july865 Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 i am building a computer for a friend as a gift for the holidays. i also wanted to add a special gift and yesterday i downloaded A10. i had used an arbitrary login name and with email address i seldom use. my question is, what kind of problems will i/he run into if any, since it was a gift and i will not be the user. the game has already been activated online in the new computer. all i want him to do was plug in his sticks and fly when he recieves it. EtherealN Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 If the account you used for the purchase has only been used for that specific purchase, just give him the account - change the e-mail registered to the account to his e-mail and you should be set. MemphisBelle Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Any chance in the future that ED would make it easier to purchase ED games for others , kinda like the way steam has a gift option when you buy something This actually shouldn´t be a problem right now. If you friend knows about that (may be asked you) so he needs to change the Websites login password to a temporary one, then he needs to give you his details. You make the purchase with your Credit card. Once done he just needs to reset his temporary password for his real one. I already díd that several times. In this case, my friends have transfered the money to my bankaccount and I purchased the bewished product...worked fine and easy. BlackSharkDen | BSD Discord | DCS Tutorial Collection
Nobody96 Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 Uhm... I bought BS1 and BS2 two times, for me and a friend, but I used only one account. Is there a possibility to move one of each key to another account? If not, are there any problems that could arise? I mean could I still give him his keys to activate his install to play together online or are the keys also bound to the master-server login? so long Mathias My System: Intel Core i7-4770K, Asus ROG Strix RX480 O8G, 24GB Ram
Heggis Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 It is. Use the ticketsystem to give them your accountname, transaction id & serialnumbers (which games you want to re-link to your friend) and your friends accountname. They have little delay (couple of days), but they are able to do it. Mine is being done so atm... well I'm waiting for them to complete the re-linking. :)
Geskes Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 What I would like to see is an option in the store: Purchase as gift. Then I enter the user name I want to gift to and its done or in case user does not have account I can enter his email and he gets an email with a code he uses to create a new account and product will be there after his account creation.
