Nate--IRL-- Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 Do you have a 32bit OS? If so see the 3gb tweaks in my sig. Also install the specific DirectX and Visual C++ in my sig. If it happens again please attach the DCS.log from C:\Users\<User Name>\Saved Games\DCS Warthog\Logs so I can take a look. Spindoctor Posted November 16, 2011 Author Posted November 16, 2011 Hi Nate. I have 64bit win7 system, its not a crash the game is still running in the backround and i can get back into the game but every few seconds to minutes im back to the desktop, so im wondering will a crash log be any use to you at all, will it show up in log?
Nate--IRL-- Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 Oh I see now, it sounds to me like another program running in the background is stealing window focus from DCS. I had anti virus software do this to me before. Try closing every single background process you can and try again. Also try running in windowed mode to see if that helps at all. Rainmaker Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 My guesses... A. Antivirus B. Programs like Adobe that have an auto-updater to check for updates. I have had this happen 2-3 times before, both the first two were Anti-virus, was super suprised that the Adobe updater was doing it on the third. I can be super tricky to track down sometimes. In my last occurance, it would happen about every half hour or so which made it painfully hard to diagnose.
Spindoctor Posted November 17, 2011 Author Posted November 17, 2011 I turned off steam which was running in the backround and that seems to have sorted it, seems to be a lot smoother with very little stutter aswell. thanks for the help guys, very much appreciated.
