PeterP Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 (edited) Dear Dejjvid, believe whatever you want - listen, I don't want to sell you something... I just show you a way how to extract the background image. And you get it in a high enough resolution to print it in A0. Take it or leave it...:smilewink: A0 = 84,1 x 118,9 cm The picture is 2598 x 3604 px so you end up with roughly 30 pixels per cm (equals roughly 72dpi) - and I think that's a very fair quality when you want to use it as Poster. Of course - when you have a PDF where every single layer/picture/black-square is uncompressed and in 300dpi - you quickly end up with a file-size more than 100mb and beyond. Edit: [sarcasm on] Sure- you can ask JimMack if he can upload it again for you in 300dpi - so you can look at it in a distance of 10cm without hurting your eyes. But when I look at something so close - I have usually a Playboy in my hands - and not a A0 Poster... [/sarcasm off] Edited November 24, 2011 by PeterP
Dejjvid Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 30dpcm is around 72dpi. And not considered a 'very fair' print resolution. If you print a 4x4m billboard i can buy 72dpi, but not on a A0 poster you view from 1-5m. This will be my last post in this matter, since we apparently don't agree on the subject. I just hope we can have a poster as christmas present from ED ;) i7 8700K | GTX 1080 Ti | 32GB RAM | 500GB M.2 SSD | TIR5 w/ Trackclip Pro | TM Hotas Warthog | Saitek Pro Flight Rudder [sigpic]http://www.132virtualwing.org[/sigpic]
PeterP Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 (edited) So please accept my deepest apologies that I have wasted your time - sorry - this will not happen again! Edit: (sorry can't hold it... :)) Now it will not happen again! Edited November 24, 2011 by PeterP
ZQuickSilverZ Posted November 26, 2011 Author Posted November 26, 2011 I made this post so I could advertise for ED and help the online community. My thread got hijacked. For shame. 1 I need, I need, I need... What about my wants? QuickSilver original. "Off with his job" Mr Burns on the Simpsons. "I've seen steering wheels / arcade sticks / flight sticks for over a hundred dollars; why be surprised at a 150 dollar item that includes the complexities of this controller?! It has BLINKY LIGHTS!!" author unknown. These titles are listed in the chronological order I purchased them. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
PeterP Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 I'm truly sorry about this - and I already apologised for this . Sometimes the internet is just a really wired... I send you a +rep as a retrieval.
StrongHarm Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 I would like to see a DCScon at Nellis! I'd fly there for that. I'm sure the U.S. Airforce would love the free recruiting op... no have them pay for it. I'm sure it's in the budget! heheh. I advertise by word of mouth all the time, but I think my best direct advertising opportunity came at the last Dayton airshow. I stood at the A-10 Demo East booth and chatted the airman up about the sim. Several people who came to purchase t-shirts, etc. said 'wait, what sim are you talking about?'. As for virtual spaces to spread the word, I've posted my user review at sites such as metacritic.com. DCS A10C is within the top 20 games of 2011 for critic and user reviews, even with titles such as BF3 and Skyrim . It's a great way to expose the sim and give people, those with the aptitude, a chance to try it. +1 for the effort of putting up a poster! It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm
