pedder55655 Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Heyho, sorry if that sounds noobish but I'm pretty new to the game. Yesterday I wanted to practice some bombing with guided bombs, but my aircraft had only unguided aboard along with mavericks. However, I went back to the airport and asked the ground crew to mount some guided bombs. And they did. I could see in the ext camera that the armament has changed to my wish, but the DSMS still showed the old payload. So, is there a way to "auto-detect" what's under the wings? Probably load suitable weapon-profiles too? Thanks
ilikepie Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 (edited) you need to reload the data cartridge via the mcfd load button. press and hold an osb, then press load, then press the same osb again, then press load, then load dsms. should be good to go from there. pedder55655 Posted November 18, 2011 Author Posted November 18, 2011 Cool, gonna try that out when I'm back home. Thanks
jazjar Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 No, No, No, No, don't do this. The Dsms load button only works when you've reloaded The same payload that you started with If you reload new ordnance, you then must manually reload the system, by going to the inventory page and using that functionality to change the digital payload. Erm, no. DSMS Reload will load whatever you select when you request rearm, default or not. Eihort Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 That video only shows it working with the same load. I've tried to do that with a different load and it loaded what I started with, not what I rearmed with. I had to manually use the inventory functions to detect and program the DSMS with the new stores.

The only gotcha with this is that you'll end up with extra profiles in your PROF page of the DSMS. They won't be active on the HUD or as options with using the DMS switch though. You can remove them by selecting them from the Profile page in the DSMS. When you select a profile with no matching weapons the CLR PROFILE options on OSB 5 will light up. Select that twice to remove the profile: Edited November 19, 2011 by kylania [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Christmas Cheer - A Landing Practice Mission : Beta Paint Schemes : HOTAS Keyboard Map : Bingo Fuel - A DCS A-10C Movie
jazjar Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 Hmm. that's weird, must be an auto-detect feature of the DSMS, interesting. To change the HOFs of the CBUs you still need the inventory page. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Yeah, which is a pain! :joystick: Thankfully they are thinking of fixing that in an upcoming patch even though it's set to a realistic height currently due to game play concerns. Also individual store jettison and hung stores require using Inventory that I'm aware of. Lane Posted November 19, 2011 Posted November 19, 2011 (edited) It's not so a pain, assuming you are loaded with 2 or 4CBU.. you enter 2 times the HOF in the inventory and use "load sym ".. this mean you enter 2 times the HOF in inv... It's not as you need to tattoo the HOF on your arm.. Now it's clear if the HOF was set by default to 1200 or 1500-1800 .. this will just don't need you to set it, as 500 is just unusable.
