Hi,

I create a mission, where I want to set AI helicopters, if there are no client helicopters. At first, only to check at mission start.

The logic:

Ka-50 clients alive?

yes -> AI OH-58 off

no -> AI OH-58 on

The triggers:

mission start -> time more (1)* -> unit AI off (oh-58 )

once -> unit alive (client1) or unit alive (client2) -> flag on (1)

once -> flag is false (1) -> unit AI on (oh-58 )

* I tried also "time less (2)", "unit alive (oh-58 )". Didn't worked.

I tried also:

mission start -> time more (1) -> flag on (1)

once -> flag is true (1) -> unit AI off (oh-58 )

once -> unit alive (client1) or unit alive (client2) -> flag on (2)

once -> flag is false (2) -> unit AI on (oh-58 )

My problem is, that the OH-58 always start. I don't know, if I doing something wrong or if the AI off/on trigger is broken.

Maybe, somebody can help? Thanks in advance.

kind regards,

Fire

PS: The time for the OH-58 is missionstart (0600), because according to the manual, I have to set the units starttime only for "activate group/ unit".

I don't think the unit AI stuff really works for aircraft. Or, it may control targeting and suchlike, but not startup/takeoff procedures which are heavily scripted.

I'd try setting the AI aircraft to 'uncontrolled', then give them a triggered 'start' task. Then if you want the AI helicopters to be active in the mission, have a trigger execute the triggered start task on them and they'll to spooling up and go about their business. If you never run the triggered start task, they'll just sit on the ramp quietly minding their own business, which seems to be what you're after.

I saw the "start" triggered action, but want to know what's with the AI off/ on thing. According to the GUI, this function is described with:

UNIT AI OFF - Disable the artificial intelligence of the selected unit. The unit will stop all movement, sensor operations and will not engage in combat.

UNIT AI ON - Activate the artificial intelligence of the selected unit. Only possible after use of the UNIT AI OFF action on the unit.

But it seems, that the start-up procedure isn't included.

kind regards,

Fire

EDIT: Thanks, that works.

Last time I checked, you cannot turn AI on/off for aircraft/helos. Your trigger logic will work badly anyway, because the server might start even though no clients have jumped into their seats. There is no way I can think of that makes this possible. The best solution I can think of is making a radio option for turning the AI helos on if the players want them to.

Nice plane on that gun...

It's a mission for our squadron, if the mission starts we have Sharks or we have them not for the whole mission.

But good idea, that's with the radio item ... :thumbup: Will test it.

I need some help with the ME.

How can I change nations to other sides in a persist mission? Like in the ME Mod by one of the STP guys. That should be manuelly possible, or?

Where can I find the P37 and PRW-11 radar?

kind regards,

Fire

Hi Fire,

First:

I released some tigger logics in our forum:

http://spare-time-pilots.de/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=739

Take a look. Maybe there is something interesting for you.

Second:

I used this function you described in one of my missions.

I activated RED A.I. Fighters, once BLUE Client Fighters are active and no RED Client Fighters.

I added a huge trigger zone and worked with "Unit inside zone" to know when a Client is active.

Maybe your "Unit alive" version is the problem?

Third:

Radio-Items are not working in MP.

Fourth:

Sadly Blindspot's Coallition-mod is not working with BS2/WH anymore. But a other STP-guy is working on the mod.

Add a really big triggerzone over client Ka-50 spawn point and the whole target area so the Ka-50 can not fly outside.

Then add a second, small triggerzone on the end of the runway the Client A-10s will start from.

Add the A.I. Helo and check the hook "Uncontrolled".

Add the triggeraction (button beside waypoint button) "Start".

Add the Client Ka-50 and the Client A-10c.

Open the Triggerlist and add:

Trigger:

ONCE

Condition:

Unit inside zone - Client A-10c - Zone behind Runway

Unit outside zone - Client Ka-50 - Zone at Ka-50 spawnpoint

Action:

AI Task - "Start"

Result:

Once the A-10 are taken off and no Ka-50 is in the area, the A.I. Helo will start.

It doesn't matter who is first on the server.
