Polar-eX Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 I fly Fs9 for years now. The great strength of FS9 is purely the amazing amount of fantastic add ons that make FS9 a good Flightsimulator. PMDG made some fantastic boeings that can line up the the A-10C quality, visual and technical (Full FMC programming and realistic startup procedure, although its still possible to open the doors at cruise alt. without cabin drop:music_whistling:) A lot of terrain was covered by third parties: mesh & landclass. Then the AI planes came with realtime airschedules. Weather enhancement programs for realtime weather and 32 bit cloud graphics. For aerosoft it wasnt enough. The programmes AES. Airport Enhancement Software. As you plane is powered down at the gate, groundcrew become visible. Although the guy seems he just shit his pants, he is standing there. Different food trucks on demand, cleaning trucks, luggage trucks, boarding sounds and onboard crew comms for un-loading passengers. A tow truck for a nice push back or at arrival a follow me truck. As PMDG already made the awsome 747-400, AES was only a huge immersion upgrade to make it all complete. FSpassenger came so you could run your own company trying to keep your airline reputation at a high level with keeping up tight air schedules soft landings and good overall prices serving meals on time and even let people enjoy movies. Its just to much to mention. We now live in 2011 and FS9 is from 2004 and still, for me, with all add ons i own the best flightsim. (i do not want to start a FS9 - FSX discussion). So, i have an excellent Commercial flightsim, and next to that a excellent Military flightsim: The A-10. Before you get me wrong: this is and must be and stay a military flightsim! No doubt about it. Somehow i have the feeling that this sim could be so much more. Im not talking about a BF3 - A-10C integration! A-10C has a dynamic campaign, which is an awsome feature. Why not take advantage of this. Setup the logistical part of a modern warfare! If its necessary to get more troops at a certain base, im the guy that want to fly them in with a C130 Hercules. If im getting shot down, it has effect in the campaign, making it harder for the A-10C pilots. This is just a small example. I love to fly the A-10C but if im ever get to known about 40% of its military capabilities it will be much and im afraid im not the only one... But i understand this is probably a dream. As MS flightsimulator has build up reputation for about 20 years, military flightsims are still somehow in a dark corner. Am i dreaming? sobek Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Ask the add-on makers to make mods for DCS as soon as more of their toolkits are released. And get your friends to ask them too. If you can rally enough people to ask this from a company, they might look into it. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!

All i know is that the commercial flight community is ernormous. It went all quiet around commercial aircraft, since MS closed ACE studios. Now, it apaers to be that MS is devving a new comm Fs called "Flight". X-plane has just released X-Plane 10. As i understand Ubisoft and Aerosoft are two major companies that are devving add ons for MS. They also dev. military planes for MS and they are truly awsome. So why not involve them into military combat sims? Wouldnt it be great is Aerosoft could make a kind of AES for DCS titles? By the way, i dont have friends... sobek Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Wouldnt it be great is Aerosoft could make a kind of AES for DCS titles? Yes of course that would be great, but as long as these companies have a much larger userbase in FSX than in DCS and given that they have no experience with developing for DCS, they won't venture a switch if there isn't a huge amount of money lurking right around the corner for them. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
Jona33 Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Version 1.1.1.0 Why? as i understand it has a dynamic campaign? Staged Campaign System. (SCS) Different thing entirely. In an SCS there are many manually made missions that are similar. In a win you move forward through the missions. In a Dynamic Campaign each mission is remembered and it generates new missions for you. A Dynamic campaign is in Falcon where it can never play the same. (Whether or not that the missions or fun is a whole new aspect) Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing

It was an interesting idea. It would be fun flying a heavy one day. DCS might go that way eventually. Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
