Hello...

Just wanted to drop some CBU97 in 1.1.1.1. Made a dive from about 7000ft at -30°. As i remember that was steep enough to make the recticle appear. But now it does not. Even at steeper dive angles. It works when i dive from around 11000ft...Is there some Elevation entry problem?

Actually i read something about entering the right EL in CDU at target to make the bombs hit the target more accurate in CCIP mode. But thats too long ago. Cant find it anymore...Does someone know where or has got a tip for me?

A few things to check:

1) Regarding elevation, is DTS your elevation source? (You see this in the right data block on HUD, and if this is preventing CCIP you'll see a "CCIP Invalid" cue on HUD.)

2) Is the weapon selected directly through station on DSMS? If so, use Master Mode select button to ensure you are in CCIP mode.

3) Is the weapon selected through DSMS profile page? If so, ensure the profile is set to CCIP and not CCRP.

A track file would allow us to look at exactly what is wrong.

Concerning

1) Yes. DTS is the source.

2) CCIP master mode is selected.

3) CCIP is selected in profile.

Will add a track file, but it will take a while. Not at home

Thanks so far...

Ok, here it is. Sometimes faster as expected:smilewink:...

Did two runs from about 7000ft and one from 10000ft. Worked as used to from 10000. Think it is my dive angle? Not steep enough from lower altitude?! Maybe i'm wrong, but it think i did deliver a 97 always in that manner before...Anyway...Your opinion is welcome...

I don't think your dive angle was steep enough, for lower level runs it would be better to use the 5mill method or 3/9

have another go and start at a higher altitude with a steeper dive :)

good luck and have fun

Alternatively, you can lower the HOF value for CBU97 from 1800 to 1200 at the cost of effectiveness. Remember tho, it will not deploy at all at altitudes below 900 AGL.

IMO it is best to use either CCRP for static targets, or CCIP with Consent to Release (5 mil or 3/9) for moving targets without lowering the HOF, since you would not be using the CBU97 effectively at HOF < 1800 AGL.
