Reinstalling - What should/shouldn't I backup?

Hey guys,

 

Thread title kind of says it all. I'm looking to reinstall BS2 from scratch (BS1 -> BS2 -> BS2 (patch) and wondering what I should and shouldn't backup?

 

The reason that I mention "shouldn't" is because I suspect some files are better off "fresh".

 

I'm interested in hearing about specific files (as opposed to "You should back up your Log Book and Controls") as I have no idea where anything is stored. :)

 

If this info already exists, a link to the post would be really appreciated. I did search the forum, but my skills are weak... :(

Assuming you have not installed any mods, the only files of 'value' are stored in C:\Users\<yourname>\Saved Games\DCS BlackShark 2.

 

I could be wrong on the folder name, don't have BS2 on this machine.

 

That is missions you created, saved tracks, logbooks and control configs.

 

It is usually recommended to not reusing old config files but if you are just cleaning up and reinstalling the same version then you should be OK putting the files back.

Controls should be input.lua I believe. Easiest way is to save/load profile from the options menu so you can name it.
