Hi Guys,

I've got a newbie question.

I just finished by basic "training" with A-10C. I know how to fly (well, thats easy since I know basic instruments and navigation from real life), learned how to implement weapons in controled environment (practiced training missions till I was bored to death). I am still having some problems with complexity of "regular" combat theater - everything is happening at once: radar spiking, SAMs, AAA, and in brief few minutes I need to find a target, slew TGP / MAV, attack and don't get killed.

I only recently realized that I got JTAC orders to "acquire" - training missions didn't mention that. My question is: do I request JTAC mission on the airstrip? The shortest "time on target" is 15 minutes and I usually arrive much sooner. What is the proper way to communicate with JTAC?

Cheers!

Once at AO IP you should contact the JTAC using the "4"-menu, and report flight is on station ready for tasking. They will give you the strike mission and details regarding.

Nice plane on that gun...

The 15, 30, 45, 60 minutes is you telling the JTAC how long you can stick around for. I'm not sure if it has any effect on how they handle you or if they kick you off after the time you told them.

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.
