WriterJWA Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Hi! I'm a new player going through the learning curve for this fantastic game! (I TRULY love it!). For now, I've got a Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS X, and I want to map my controls to get as close as possible to the Warthog. The mapping instructions for the controller are a bit thin, and I'm having problems turning key commands into control commands (especially regarding combined keys to combined control commands). For example, I'd like to set the buttons on the right of the throttle to equal the speedbrake, boat switch and china hat with the rocker switch as the forward and backward modifier, but am having a rough time of it. Is there anyone using this controller with some success who can assist me? (NOTE: I'd already own the Wathog HOTAS if I could, believe me. That controller is epic. One step at a time, though.) THANKS! :pilotfly:
Jona33 Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 The rocker switch is an axis meaning you can't use it for a modifier. I can upload my own profile if you want. Basically go into the HOTAS page in the options controls menu and for Speedbrakes set speedbrake forward or back double click in the T flight column and then press the button you want. It's all self explanatory really. Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
WriterJWA Posted December 30, 2011 Author Posted December 30, 2011 Cool deal. Yeah ... I kinda got some of it sorted out. I was trying to link commands using the mapping tool on the controller vice just modifying in the game options (which I had trouble with before). Nevertheless, I've got some of it worked out .... but I'm afraid I'm inevitably going to need to get TrackIR and the Warthog stick. :(

guitarwiz1 Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 I made all the joystick buttons modifiers. For instance speed brakes are on button 6 + hat switch. Boat switch on 7 + hat etc. I have the same joystick and it works out pretty good for me. It's setup for trackIR, so the hat switch has no view function. I also set the slider for zoom view.My Joystick.lua [sIGPIC]http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd158/guitarwiz1/OFCguitarwiz1.jpg[/sIGPIC] http://overfortyclan.freeforums.org
