Crashmo Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 (edited) Hey Guys, I've been reading these threads over and over trying to find the magic bullet. I've changed my view.lua files to =false as directed. In game I can change and save my snap views. They work as published for the rest of the mission. Once I exit a mission or game the new snap views are not saved. They then revert to default. I've even alt tabbed during a mission to check the current snap view file against my backup original file and they don't seem to change at all. Any ideas? I want my snap view changes to be saved permanently, not just for that mission. Edited January 16, 2012 by Crashmo solution
lanmancz Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 First in "DCS A-10C\Config\View\View.lua" you need to set : DisableSnapViewsSaving = false UseDefaultSnapViews = false and then every time you set a new snap view press "Save Cockpit Angles" key. Also check that you can write into the game folder. If you have the game installed in Program Files you will have to run it as administrator. cichlidfan Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Just to be clear. You edited the View.lua in C:\<gamesfolder>\DCS A-10C\Config\View and this line changed from UseDefaultSnapViews = true to UseDefaultSnapViews = false I just want to be sure since that problems sounds so odd. Crashmo Posted January 16, 2012 Author Posted January 16, 2012 (edited) =false As stated, although not very specifically, I did make sure both lines were =false. I used notepad++ and ran it as administrator. I did Save angles Ralt+kp0 after every time I set a new snap view. I knew this function worked because as I said, during the current mission, the snap views work as I saved them. I Googled run as admin everything and got onto a MS forums. They answered the question. Now I'm running all sims as admin and I'll try it here in a moment to see if that affected a change. Stay tuned. Ok gentleman, that was the solution. I set up everything (sim and icon to open sim)as run as admin and now the changes are being saved from game to game. Thanks for the fast replies. Edited January 16, 2012 by Crashmo New info came to light, man.
