VFA41_Lion Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 I want to do a couple of mods to update the F/A-18 capabilities in the mission editor since it seems to be sort of out of whack with everything else... for instance, I know you can add pylons to at least the Hog (saw one crazy picture where that guy had like a hundred mavericks), so I was wondering if I could jerry rig a couple of pylons to the existing C Hornet, copy over the entire data, keep the model look, and tweak the flight characteristics to make a crude Super Hornet.. oh and if I could add either the AIM-120C to the F/A-18A inventory in the sim or the C model to Spain/Canada's selection of aircraft. :joystick: :helpsmilie: So to summarize: 1) Want to add pylons to the F/A-18C 2) Want to give Canada/Spain access to the C model 3) Want to give their F/A-18A access to the AIM-120C if (2) is not possible
VFA41_Lion Posted January 29, 2012 Author Posted January 29, 2012 Just to record my own progress, I made a copy of the FA-18C file, changed the characteristics to match the Super Hornet (did not find any engine lines other than max speed though...), and I think I added the pylons and payload options. Now I'm seeing where the file FA-18C is mentioned in the game's folders so I can copy the newly made FA-18E file into the relevant ones.
VFA41_Lion Posted January 29, 2012 Author Posted January 29, 2012 Okay. I think I've managed to add the C model to Canada, and I've found a bunch more files where F/A-18C was mentioned. Right now I found the plane variables for the C in "PlaneConst" and added an entry for the E model and am changing the numbers.. hope this works!
VFA41_Lion Posted January 29, 2012 Author Posted January 29, 2012 I think I screwed up the pylon positions... :music_whistling:
VFA41_Lion Posted January 29, 2012 Author Posted January 29, 2012 I can see trying to figure out the pylon positions is going to be the hardest here...
VFA41_Lion Posted February 2, 2012 Author Posted February 2, 2012 Well that only took me a couple of days.... :D Now if only I had an actual Superhornet model to work with..
