xxJohnxx
Hi, I am working on a little mission the last few days and now I wonder what the typical A-10 startup time, at our simulator, is. For example 10 minutes from cold and dark to ready for taxi. Or how long does it take for you? Less than 10 minutes, 15 minutes or even 20 minutes? What do you missionbuilders use? Any answers would be desired. :) Thanks John Check out my YouTube: xxJohnxx Intel i7 6800k watercooled | ASUS Rampage V Edition 10 | 32 GB RAM | Asus GTX1080 watercooled
Grimes
I sync everything based on when the player gets airborne. I create a zone nearish the combat area and set a flag once the player enters, all timings or automated functions are started once the player enters the zone. This way it doesn't really matter how long it takes for a player to do their startup. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Speed
Startup from cold can take folks anywhere from 3 to 20 minutes. You just never know. I think 15 minutes is a good amount of time to give folks. Honestly, if it takes you >15 minutes to get started, you probably aren't really ready for combat yet. Intelligent discourse can only begin with the honest admission of your own fallibility. According to limit set into training mission BFT 01 http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/38337/ you would have to be ready for t/o into 8 mins starting from cold & dark and making full system check&set. :smilewink: At the beginning it's a great challenge:joystick:, but after a lot of failures now I usual am ready for t/o into 6-8 mins. :smartass:  The secret is to make some weapon & defence settings only in the first part of the flight. xxJohnxx
Thank you for all the answers. I like the idea with the airborn trigger. That would give the user enough time to prepare himselfe. However about 10 to 15 minutes for the startup seems to be a good value too. I think a combination of boths is probaly the best solution. GripenNG
Well for me it takes around 20 minutes, and my take-off time is usually 30 minutes from getting in the chair. I follow the RL checklist, that´s why it takes some time. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Snooze-81st-vFS
