dabomb Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Recently I noticed that I can no longer click directly on a button or switch with the mouse cursor. The actual "hit" detection, if you will, seems to have become offset somehow. For example, if I want to click on ABRIS button 4, I actually have to hover the mouse about a 1/4 inch below the button before the cursor will turn green and show me the call-out for that button. (hope that makes sense). Same goes for any other switch/button/dial in the cockpit. I have no idea why or how this started happening. The only change I've made is to add a second monitor to the right of my main one to display the SHKVAL and ABRIS. Has anyone else out there experienced this issue before? I did a quick search but didn't seem to find a match. Thanks for any input.
PeterP Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 (edited) Here is a possible solution and what causing this BS1.02 "Bug": You are probably running BS on win7 in windowed mode (this is a guess- as you didn't gave any info ) and you have changed the magnification of your desktop probably to 125%. This dosn't only zooms your desktop - it also shift your mouse-pointer - well, Win7 translates this right for the desktop but dosn't change this for windowed DirectX applications. Turn it back to 100% and everything should be normal again. So this is actually a Win7 bug. Edited February 20, 2012 by PeterP
dabomb Posted February 20, 2012 Author Posted February 20, 2012 I never implied this was a bug with the sim. This sub-forum is named "Bugs and Problems". This is merely a problem I am experiencing. Yes, I am running Win7 in windowed mode. You pretty much have to if you want to run multiple monitors, which I did mention. My display magnification is at the default 100%. What I failed to mention that may be useful is that I am using a TrackIR (5).
PeterP Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 (edited) No need to be defensive. I called it a "bug" in the first sentence. And running windowed is not the only way - you could be using "Eyefinity" or "Surround", and there is always "SoftTh" for running DCS fullscreen with screens that don't share the same specifications. Do you use the right aspect in your Options.lua? (total width divided by total height ) ? Edited February 20, 2012 by PeterP
