Spongebob Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 Hi, any chance to get a patch with official widescreen support? It seems that part of the code is already there, as I saw tips how to edit the screen settings in graphics.cfg at simhqs board. Still, it would be nice to have official support, rather than hacking the configuration files. Thanks.
Doug97 Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 I second this request, even if it comes only as part of 1.2.
britgliderpilot Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 Hmmn - you mean adding it to the UI, rather than having to do file edits? The flightsim community has got used to file edits for settings - just look at the Pacific Fighters water. Not to mention Lomac's force feedback, cockpit mouse, and all the rest of it . . . . . There's only a limited amount of space in the UI - would probably be too much trouble to deal with. Having said that, proper documentation of the useful file edit settings would be a very good thing. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
GregP Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 BGP, I disagree. The way it's treated right now is inconsisent: widescreen resolutions are offered, but the aspect ratio does not get re-calculated correspondingly. Instead you have to go into graphics.cfg and change the aspect ratio yourself - and whenever you go back into the Options/Graphics menu again, the aspect ratio gets reset, even if you don't change the resolution. This isn't something that needs a UI button; it should just be in the code. The aspect ratio should automatically be calculated and applied according to whatever resolution you choose.
