Hey guys,

I really get a huge FPS increase using SLI, but FRAPS would bog me down when recording, and disable SLI. I am now using the Avermedia Game Broadcaster Card (vga input) and the results are awesome, no lag, no fps hit, see for yourself. I am using the card and playing the game on the same PC using a vga splitter.

How does it work.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

I installed the capture card on the same rig I game on. The output vga cable I hooked to a powered splitter. From the powered splitter I attached one vga cable to my main monitor and the other into the vga capture card. For the audio I use the Stereo mix option which records sound outputted through speakers.

The software that comes with the product does a pretty good job of recording, I have not had any problems yet. I will try to post a better explanation with pics soon.

$20.00 for Powered VGA Splitter (new egg)

Interesting. I wonder if they make card that accepts HDMI and record sound at the same time.

Ranger79, can you plug cable directly into card without going through splitter?

Not for pc use, or clone display are your two options. This card does have a hdmi input.

Not sure what you mean. Can you skip splitter? ie VGA/HDMI cable directly into that card?

Also, are you recording to a different hard drive?

You have to use a splitter if you are going to view the monitor you are using.
