0utLAW Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Any recommendations for removing the "slop" from the x52 Pro? More specifically where the hand grip meets the rod that goes into the base. I just want to remove/reduce the wobbliness. I'm ok with the dead zone in the base(for now). i7-8700k 3.70mhz|64GB DDR4 G.SKILL Ripjaw V 3200|ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce RTX 2080 8G GDDR6|AsRockZ390 Extreme4|2 Samsung 870QVO 1TB, 1 Samsung 860 QVO 1TB, 1 Samsung 860EVO 500GB|Corsair 750D|Corsair H-100i|Corsair AX750|LG 34GN850-B|Acer UT241Y|TM Cougar MFDs| Buddyfox UFC|TM Warthog HOTAS(Modified Spring/Slew Control Stick, Upgraded PCB, Stick Extension)|Saitek Combat Pedals|Corsair Nightsword|Corsair K70|TrackIR5|Custom A-10C Panels|

0utLAW Posted March 24, 2012 Author Posted March 24, 2012 check this out: I have seen that, tried it, didn't like it. Thank you though. I was thinking if I could just wedge something between the hand grip and the rod(toothpicks) that might help. I just wanted to see what others have done for this issue before I did anything. i7-8700k 3.70mhz|64GB DDR4 G.SKILL Ripjaw V 3200|ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce RTX 2080 8G GDDR6|AsRockZ390 Extreme4|2 Samsung 870QVO 1TB, 1 Samsung 860 QVO 1TB, 1 Samsung 860EVO 500GB|Corsair 750D|Corsair H-100i|Corsair AX750|LG 34GN850-B|Acer UT241Y|TM Cougar MFDs| Buddyfox UFC|TM Warthog HOTAS(Modified Spring/Slew Control Stick, Upgraded PCB, Stick Extension)|Saitek Combat Pedals|Corsair Nightsword|Corsair K70|TrackIR5|Custom A-10C Panels|
matacks Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 (edited) Hello, this is my first post in the forum. I found this thread in a search to see if anyone has tried to fix the slop in the saitek X52 (the older one not pro version). I have also watched drayu's youtube tutorial vids. I did the magnet mod and can attest it really improves the feel of the controller. The magnet mod and the spring tension mod really go together so if you do one, you might as well do both. The advantage of the magent mod is that it reduces the throw of the joystick so that you can make big adjustments without having to pull the controller all the way over. I just bought a new sim called Take on Helicopters and was really having a hard time controlling the helicopters with the x52. the difference the magnet mod made for this game was like night and day for the saitek x52. as far as slop in the saitek x52, I have this problem also. Before doing the magnet and spring tension mods I almost completely took the joystick apart. I believe theres a few areas of the joystick that may be able to be stiffened by use of spacers to help remove slop but no way it's gonna be an easy procedure. I may be trying this with mine so I'll post again if I find something that works. At the least I really recommend the magnet and spring tension mod. It's pretty easy to reverse too if you dont like it. Edited April 9, 2012 by matacks
