PeterP Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 (edited) No (easy) way to do this... And if it would be possible it would definitive mess up your targeting - e.g. Your gun-piper wouldn't point to the right place on the the ground Have a look at this thread to understand why the collimated HUD works like it works: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1034525#post1034525 Nope, the HUD text stays the same size, as compared to the background. It also stays in the same place, as compared to the background, as you move your head around. That's the whole point of having a HUD. A target marker on the HUD will stay over the target regardless of how you reposition your head. This is done through focusing the HUD image on infinity (in reality a point perhaps 30 or so m out, IIRC). The optics are under the glareshield. Having messed with the things in real-life fast jets (on the ground and in the simulators - the ba$£@£§s never let me borrow one!), I find the HUDs in DCS completely believable. In real life, the clarity of the symbology is much better of course, but that's just hard to reproduce on a computer screen. Cheers, /Fred Edited April 9, 2012 by PeterP
