1280x720 support

Can you add 1280x720p support?

 

Right now I am using 1920x1080 @ 24Hz for 3DTV Play. I would like to get 60fps using 1280x720 @ 60

 

Is this possible with a patch?

Try this:

I assume you are using Win7 as OS.

 

Navigate to

C:\Users\>Your user name<\Saved Games\DCS Warthog\Config

 

 

And edit the options.lua with a proper editor (Notepad++) in

 

line # 38

["aspect"] = 1.777777777777778, -- width/height

line # 47

["height"] = 720,

line # 51

["width"] = 1280,

Just cut him some slack...

He sure means 60Hz refresh rate for the TV (he is now at 24Hz), instead of 60FPS.

Works great now! 1280x720p allows me to get more FPS in stereoscopic mode...I am playing on a 50in. Panasonic 3DTV...This is astounding!

Nice you got it working now!

Keep in mind you have to redo this tweak whenever you change resolution in the DCS in-game options again.

 

To make this resolution always selectable from the drop-down menu you have to edit :

 

Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C\MissionEditor\data\scripts

 

optionsData.lua

 

and change the "values" line and add the red letters at line # ~ 356

 

 

 

before:

resolution = {

__value__ = '1024x768',

control = 'combo',

values = {},

after:

resolution = {

__value__ = '1024x768',

control = 'combo',

values = {

{ id = "1280x720", dispName = "3DTV 1280p"},

},

Always make a backup of the file before you edit!

 

Now you should be able to select "3DTV 1280p" whenever you like.

So, switching between the normal PC-monitor and the TV will not include a file edit.

Awesome!

 

That is a future-proofed video engine...You can now build a 3x720p projector setup in 3D for 2200.00 !

 

3 x (Acer H5360) = 1200.00$

 

2 x (GTX 680) in SLI = 1000.00$

 

Best practices would be to have all 3 projectors in a vertical orientation. This would give you an amazing experience.

 

I also have an eye out for an surplus A10 chair...Mojave airplane junk yard is only 1 hr. away.
