Flyby Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 What? No plans for the Me109-G10? Well, how about the Fw 190-D? The U.S. Congress is the best governing body that BIG money can buy.
SimFreak Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Yeah how about that? Those evil son of a guns! They forgot to ask you about their plans first!
msalama Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 To model a human-pilotable Biffer or Focke to DCS standards would be impossible at this short a notice I think - or maybe they've a surprise or 2 up their sleeve, I don't know? - but some AI adversaries would still be nice IMO too ;) The DCS Mi-8MTV2. 6S.Duke Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 What? No plans for the Me109-G10? Well, how about the Fw 190-D? oooh! Me-109 g-10 late with 30mm nose cannon, FW-190 Dora, Me-262, Fiat G-55 Centauro, etc... All great planes! I'd enjoy to have at least one of that planets after P-51D module :) MB339 EFM Coder Frecce Tricolori Virtuali [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Flyby Posted April 20, 2012 Author Posted April 20, 2012 (edited) I was only asking. it's not all that. Yeah how about that? Those evil son of a guns! They forgot to ask you about their plans first!:chair: No soup for you! I think such planes would be very complimentary in the same air space as the 'Stang. Seems that Duxford does this all the time with it's flying legends. Given their popularity, it seemed only natural to ask after them. But it's not like I expected DCS to respond. Just expressing a desire as a question. Flyby out Edited April 20, 2012 by Flyby The U.S. Congress is the best governing body that BIG money can buy.
EtherealN Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 If you mean as a full product in the Flying Legends series, I wouldn't rate it as impossible. As always, it depends a lot on on having real pilots, and (preferably) real airworthy aircraft and their maintainers available. Unfortunately, there's no in-house Me-109 or Fw-190 (like there is for the P-51), but that doesn't make it impossible - just less likely. As AI opponents, everything is possible. From the FAQ (see signature): Q: Will units from the world war 2 era exist, like ME-109's and Ju-87's? A: That has yet to be determined. While we understand the desire for WW2 counterpart aircraft, DCS is not intended to be a full WW2 era simulation. And of course: Q: How is the P-51 supposed to fit into DCS? This makes no sense to me. A: DCS is an open simulation environment, not confined to any one era, level of fidelity, or 1st party development. In the future ED and 3rd parties may add all sorts of different units ranging from gliders to X-51s. Flyby Posted April 20, 2012 Author Posted April 20, 2012 I'm not really looking for DCS to produce a WW2 combat flight sim here. I hope I didn't confuse anyone on that point. I think it's effort is more along the lines of FSX in this regard, tbh. I only mention those planes because I know there are restored flying versions out there right now (well, maybe not the G10; but versions like the Emil and later ones). So data is not hard to find, I wouldn't think. Not only that, but now there are pilots with actual flying experience who are not in their late 80s who could critique computer flight models. Again, I'm not suggesting what DCS should do. I'm only pointing out that from where I sit (far, far away), it seems that making these planes could be done if DCS wanted to consider it. I was just thinking out loud. It would be nice. Maybe offer two for the price of one? :D Flyby out The U.S. Congress is the best governing body that BIG money can buy.

msalama Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 maybe not the G10 As an aside, I'm pretty sure I saw an airworthy G-10 at ILA 2009. Could've been a G-12 as well though, I'm not sure... The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
