I run BS on a 52" screen. I still want the Shkval on an external monitor.

I don't have anything very fancy for the job, just a little 14". I tried to use the in game monitor config but that just places everything on my 52".

I know there are some 3rd party utilities out there.

What are they? What is best? Links?

i found it actually works best to run the game in a window and slide the part of the display with the desired bits over to the second monitor, for some reason this actually gets me a higher framerate than using SoftTH does.

You don't need a 3rd party to have an external Shkval. There are a million threads on how to do it. Forgive me if I don't post one for you.

Helios is a 3rd party program that allows much more than the shkval and abris to be shown on separate monitors.

Just get your two monitors working in Windows, then share your exact resolutions to each.. Someone will help write the code for you. It is quite simple.

I have tried the .Lua edit method and my frame rate was abysmal. Not exactly sure why but it was unusable at that rate. However everything looked proper except my center screen aspect ratio was slightly too narrow.

Looked into Helios briefly, I created a profile just for the Shkval. However there was no game data displayed only the Shkval hood.

Please have a look at his thread for a starter...

Multi-monitor set-up guide & help (unofficial)

But if this will cause a information overload for you (I'm sure it will ;)) head quickly over to this thread:

Multi-Monitor DCS:BLACKSHARK

Here I almost explain step -by step how to set it up. Use the provided info corresponding on your settings.

If the info of the last thread will not enable you to configure it your self successfully- please provide the exact same info like "Thinkr" did it about his settings/setup - so I can have a closer look to help your out.

Hi guys,

I tried to made my pseudo-cockpit of Ka50, and I´d like export the Abriss & Shkval to a secondary monitor but don´t kown what is the best way.

Is it necesary to use the SoftTH or just change de config file??

I have a primary TV-monitor with 1920x1050 resolution, a below thar will be the secondary 22"monitor (1650x1280).

The specificaitons of my Pc are:

OS: W7 64bits

CPU: Core2Quad 8400 (oc at 3200mhz)

RAM= 4 (2x2)Gb Gskill DDR2 memory

GPU= Asus GTX560 oc

Clarification:

SoftTH is only useful if you want to run a system with different pixel sized Screens in Fullscreen-mode instead of windowed... ( something Eyfinity/Nvidea Surround is not able to do) - this to get a better performance.

Whatever you do : You will first have to edit your "MonirorSetup".lua/options.lua to be able to see the information on your second screen in windowed mode.

-without knowing how this works , SoftTh will have no use for you.

Uhmmmm....

Then I think it been interesting for my configuration, cause I´ll use two monitors of diferent sizes and resolution (32"=1920x1080; 22"=1680x1250).... and I want to keep the same performance.

:ermm:

I´ll connect both monitors in the same GPU, the 32"TV-HD on the HDMI port, and the 22"TFT on the DVI.

Where do I start??? Changing the config files???

Thanks PeterP.
