cichlidfan Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 With DCS going modular, the boxed copy of A-10 might become a collectors item since there (likely) won't be anymore standalone airframe packages from ED. Of course it won't ever be worth anything significant. Just a random thought.;) ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! WarthogSmurf Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Why not ? P-51 is beta only at the moment. IT could be boxed if ED wants that. But the game/sim envirmonet is swifting toward digital releases more but they are still making disc version to get sales in countries where ppl dont have huge internet connections
cichlidfan Posted May 3, 2012 Author Posted May 3, 2012 (edited) Why not ? P-51 is beta only at the moment. IT could be boxed if ED wants that. Any version of P-51 (and likely anything else in the future) will require DCS World to run. BS2 does not exist in a box. The boxed copy of A-10 (while out of date) is a standalone product, no DCS World required. That makes it slightly unique. Not disagreeing/arguing just explaining where I was coming from. I also happen to have an unopened copy of A-10.:D Edited May 3, 2012 by cichlidfan ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! mmaruda Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 I'm more comfortable with digital purchases lately, but seeing those pics of other people's sim collections, it would be a shame if boxed versions for sims were to go.
leafer Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 I had the original Flanker commander edition, unopened - think that's what it's called. I'm terrible with organizing and keeping track of things, so it's gone. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
