Cobra360 Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 Ever wanted a PC with 4 graphics cards in it? Now you can. http://www.tomshardware.com/motherboard/20051004/index.html I bet it would still struggle with lockon. :D
Guest EVIL-SCOTSMAN Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 this was already posted in the forums somewhere, it cant use all four videocards as one big sli setup, it can only use 2 at a time, albeit it can use 2 dualcore videocards at a go. it even supports 16/16 in sli mode instead of the 8x8 we use just now, so you could have 2 vid cards in sli for a game and another 2 sli cards for another monitor. also there is a new tech discussion in the forums, look up in the main page, you will see that all tech stuff that dont relate to the game is to be posted there... and yes it would still struggle with lockon due to the fact that its the cpu that bogs down lockon and not the vid cards, when sli is enabled and you have the gpu load program enabled, the loads hardly move off centre, compare that with other games and the scale is nowhere near the centre and is always jumping up and down, with lockon it is practically idle = vid cards not being stressed/hardly used....
Guest ThomasDWeiss Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 Buying this rig is a good way of making your wife/girlfriend happy with you. I can imagine the scene: - Honey! I just bought my Quad G7800GTX combo, and for just $2500 ! - Honey ... why are you looking like that ?
Guest EVIL-SCOTSMAN Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 for $2500 she would be happy, i would presume the real price would be nearer the $4000-5000 mark for that. ya but the look she would have is a deadmans look, just seconds before she pulls the trigger......
4c Hajduk Veljko Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 and yes it would still struggle with lockon due to the fact that its the cpu that bogs down lockon and not the vid cards, I too believe that it is the CPU that would make this game run at higher fps! Instead of four video cards, I would like to see ED optimize the game to use dual core CPU's.
