Gents (and ladies)

I have just purchased P51 but I don't seem to be able to assign the throttle to my x52, each time it comes into the game using the slider??

I don't use the Saitek profiler as I am a bit thick on those things but it there a way to use the control panel to do this and make it 'stick' please?

As a side note, I have noticed that none of my alterations have saved, even though I have 'saved as' and created a new 'lau' file??

When in the controller settings you have to check in which category you are - There are two for the P-51D:

Real and Game. Make sure you edit the one you want to use later in the mission.

You'll need to either use the Saitek Profile Editor or assign them in the Options editor in game. The slider is the default in the Options editor when you install the game. So you'll probably have to go into Options and delete it - go to Axis Assign in there and remove the existing Throttle entry and change it to Joy Z. You might want to then select "Slider" in the fine tuning options as I found it a bit jumpy otherwise. You probably should delete all the existing X-52 options and then redo from scratch so you get what you want where you want it.

After that you can assign other buttons. You can use the Control Panel to figure out the button number, etc. and then assign it in the Options in the game.

Personally I prefer to use the Profile Editor myself as it's easier to see what button you're working on. Just cross-reference to the keyboard commands and you're good to go. If you want to avoid the hassle of making your own you could download the ready-made profile that 6S.Duke just posted up today:

Save that into your Saitek profiles folder and then you can select that anytime you want to play. Just click on the X-52 icon in your tray and select the profile you want to use before you load up the game.

Advise against Saitek profiler use!

Just bought my P51D. I am into real simulation rather than games and was a bit sceptical. My "gaming" sons insisted it was the best. Looks good, but had the same issue (flying with using mouse for throttle is not fun). I thought I would use the profiler software. Downloaded the Windows 7 64 bit version. Instaltaltion caused continuous input in the form of ************************************ in google start menu etc. PC unusable! Had to reset to status three days ago and thus lost DCS world and an activation.

Can I fly the P51D without internet? Do I have to buy another license to fly against my gaming sons via LAN?

Is the A10C as good as the P51D? My PC courage is leaving me at the moment.
