trackIR to me means the difference between spotting and ditching an SA-3/8 missile and getting it right up my cowling... today I flew Shore mission 4 (Armed Recce) and my wingman got hit but I markpointed his shooter position using trackIR and got my right engine shot @ 10% RPM/min on max throttles. Thing is, I evaded 6 missiles by looking over the shoulder and only the last was due to expended flares. Point is, trackIR is difficult at first, but on long run, it is very useful in this type of flight simulation games.

That said, I did pop an observation some days ago in a thread like this, but remarks were to watch Gerry Abbots vid, and this man helped alot. I learnt about raising and lowering curves, which dramatically improved my view.

That said, it becomes awkward sometimes because zooming in with a non centered position (like cowl view), is not yet implemented in natural point.

I wish I had 3 trackIR's for each side of cockpit. That way I can shift without possibility of playful jitters and upside downs..

I will consider mapping zoom button to HOTAS and disabling trackIR zoom.

AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

I'm just a new guy at this and have only had TrackIR for about two weeks now so I can relate. Gerry Abbots vid got me started in the right direction and then after I turned down the speed so it wouldn't take off like a freight train when I moved... well what can I say. I can't live without it now.

I started out very frustrated for the first few days but I perservered as every video or track I watched of an A-10C being flown, it was apparent they were using TrackIR. If I wanted to be even slightly proficient in flying this beast I needed to be able to look around hands free. So don't give up.

Go over that vid many times and configure the software as Gerry set it up and use that as a starting point. I believe you can even download his profile. Then fine tune it to your taste and you will be very pleased. as everyone has said, it just takes a bit of time to get used to it.

As the others suggest - stay with it! Personally, I took to it without any issues at all, it felt incredibly natural. I can't imagine flying without it!
