GriffonBR Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Good evening guys. Well, I solved my problem with DCS World (low fps too) but now I have another headache, my friend Lock On FC2. My new config is: i5 2500k@ 4.0Ghz Intel DZ68ZV MB 8Gb Corsair Vengeance 1333mhz MSI R6850 OC with the last Catalyst (14.2 i guess) OCZ Modstream 700W PSU I´ve tryed to find some tweaks but nothing seems to work, I´ve locked my FPS to 60 but instead, I only getting 35 or less. Also, I´ve downloaded ModMan to use some tweaked terrains but nothing... I´m using the RadeonPRO to set some profiles for each one of my games and all of them are working like a charm, only FC2 that gives me problem. I was playing very well with everything on high settings , only the terrain in low on my old rig (P55H-A + i5 750 @3,3ghz + 8gb) Could you please give me some advice? Thanks a lot. galagamo Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 I´ve locked my FPS to 60 but instead, I only getting 35 or less. You've locked your FPS to 60 which means the game wont let your FPS go too much over 60 its a frame rate limiter. 35-20fps is quite acceptable to me. On the ground, in cockpit view, with mirrors enabled that is. Unfortunately all I can tell you is to tone down some of that eye candy, I recommend starting with water. If you haven't already that is, and good luck;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] OS:WIN7 HP X64|MOBO:ASRock Z68|CPU:I52500k@4Ghz|RAM:12Gb 3x4Gb GSkill Ripjaws 9-9-9-24 @1600Mhz|GPU:ASUS GTX580|HDD:2x128Gb Crucial sataIII SSD raid0|PSU:Antek 1000watt|Case:Antek 1200|Peripherals: TMWH|Saitek ProFlight rudder pedals|TrackIr4
GriffonBR Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 That´s not true man, When I was using my old rig I´ve locked the FPS at 60 and the game was running very well. I also tryed Water 1 but it dosen´t changed my FPS either. Does anyone are having any problems with FC2 using the last Catalyst drivers? Moa Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Have you enabled anti-aliasing (AA) and an-isotropic (AI) filtering on the video card driver as well as in the application? you don't want to do this. 1) Please ensure the driver-level settings (using ATI Catalyst Control Center) are set to "Application controlled" for both anti-aliasing and an-isotropic filtering. 2) Then go to the game settings and use 4x for these settings. Better FPS? 3) If FPS still inadequate decrease the view distance and disable TSAA (which makes translucent objects like your canopy and lights look nice). 4) If the FPS is still not good then get the free GPUZ tool (http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/), run it, and look at the sensors page: * Is the GPU running at 100%? * Have you run out of Video RAM (this is a big limitation when you have a HDR, high-resolution, high AA and AI values). Once you run out of Video RAM the card will start swapping and you'll get low frame rates and stuttering - so avoid this by not being too ambitious with settings.
mmaruda Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Check power saving settings. Beacuse FC2 does not use much of the gfx card resources it might be that you card is running in 2d mode.
Kuky Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Don't expect high fps with everything turned on in game settings and on high. If you're getting that fps with mirrors and high settings you're getting normal fps for your rig PC specs: Windows 11 Home | Asus TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi | AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D + LC 360 AIO | MSI RTX 5090 LC 360 AIO | 55" Samsung Odyssey Gen 2 | 64GB PC5-48000 DDR5 | 1TB M2 SSD for OS | 2TB M2 SSD for DCS | NZXT C1000 Gold ATX 3.1 1000W | TM Cougar Throttle, Floor Mounted MongoosT-50 Grip on TM Cougar board, MFG Crosswind, Track IR
GriffonBR Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 (edited) Have you enabled anti-aliasing (AA) and an-isotropic (AI) filtering on the video card driver as well as in the application? you don't want to do this. Moa, I´m talking about Lock On Flaming Cliffs 2 man, not DCS World, FC2 dosen´t have such options (to set AA or AF). All the configurations of CCC are in default, I´m using the RadeonPro to set the AA and AF for the games that don´t have this kind of options like Lock On FC2 and IL-2 Sturmovik 46. IL-2 runs perfectly, and as I said before only FC2 have problems. I play other simulations like ARMA II CO+ACE2 (heavier than FC2 dont´t you think?) with very good FPS to, as well DCS World (45-60 FPS). I think that all I have to do is wait for the new FC3 because looks like FC2 is outdated for the new Catalyst drivers, and I´ll not back for later versions. Well, it´s time for some Wings Over Series, some fun with DCS World Su-25T and when the dollar´s price lows a little bit I´ll buy the DCS Mustang... Thank you guys :D Edited May 15, 2012 by GriffonBR Intel 8700K@4.7ghz(all cores) / 32Gb DDR4 /WD Black SN750 Heatsink 500gb (DCS Only) / MSI GeForce RTX 2070 GAMING Z 8G / Windows 10 PRO / VPC WarBRD Base + Warthog Stick + Foxx Mount / Thrustmaster TPR pedals / Thustmaster MFD / Thrustmaster Warthog throttle + Monstertech chair mount
FoxBMS Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 FC2 low fps Hi guys, I have same problem with low fps, this is probably game bug, because any other game works with full details perfectly without any lag! It's pity because this game otherwise could be good. AMD quad core FX-6300 Corsair XMS PC 12800 (800Mhz) 4GB RAM GeForce GTX 650 1GB DDR 5 2x SSD hardrive 250 GB This REALLY CAN'T BE weak system setup for this game... Recommended hardware requirements of FC2 even can't reach this setup to ankles... So in this case buying this game is dropped money into trash. What a pity!! Dear developers let's think where comrades from DDR did mistake...
