Sup folks, this is my first DCS A-10 mission.

You are supposed to find and destroy 2 armor groups. They are randomly placed in a general area at mission start but the directions in the briefing should be enough to find them.

Suddenly something else happens and you have to deal with the situation.

Mission "features":

-fully voiced dialogues

-ramp start

-a tanker if you wanna fiddle around with that

-create your own flight plan

-shooting off mavericks just before AA can shoot YOU

-having to use your Mark I Eyeball to complete a stage of the mission

-a chance to fail half of the mission

-ambient stuff like trucks, choppers, Patriot SAM site shooting off rockets (not realistic but you barely get to see it usually so why not)

-a nice surprise if you do everything right, be sure to read the briefing and land on Kutasi 08 ;)

This mission uses a lot of F10 "other" radio messages to communicate with units. Make sure that either the host is flight lead OR you always relay the possible options to flight lead.

Enjoy and give bug reports and feedback, thanks.

EDIT: Mission compatible with DCS World now.

Man, this mission was fun!! Played it a SP and it work perfect. Loved it, had a big smile on my face after playing it. Only change id make is that in order to pop flairs you have to be too close to the down crew. It hard to make the location. Maybe make it so that the they can pop flairs a little further away. Good mission.

Stay Sharp.

Thanks a lot for the feedback.

Yeaaah, I kinda checked the "Flying the A-10 in the gulf war" book and tried copying the altitude they can hear A-10s at into DCS. So the flare is only popped when A-10 is in audible range.

I am glad that you got the hint and tried flying really low! Was there some trial & error involved? How did you like the default loadout?

I ran the mission once and had a mission complete. There wasn't any trail & error involved for me. The mission messages were clear and made perfect sense. I made it with the default payload so I think the payload was good. Oh yeah, it was somewhat hard to find the first groups of armor.

Yeah the armor is kinda randomly placed, sometimes it's even hard for me to find them. But then again - if you are 20 miles out you can safely orbit and scan the treelines/forest areas north of the target coords.

Well in SP the armor is spotted by the AI, and then I just tell em all to engage armor targets, they all ignore the AA and go in and get themselves killed, but at least it shows me where the enemy is shooting from, hehe.

In anycase, it was a great mission, very well done, and I will get one of my buddies to fly it with me, and we will do a movie to it, Il post it on here when it's done. Will be a few days.

Good job dude. I liked it.

PS: I freaked out a little when I had a Mig spike me from my 6, then I heard nothing more out of him.

PPS: I did pretty must ALL the work and managed to kill both armor groups and the invading convoy by myself with what was given, though I did have to use gun only on that moving convoy...

In case of air threats head back to the air field's patriot sites.

Tunguskas were reported to be within the armor groups, never trust AI if there is AA there ahahaha. :-D What I did is I looked for the armor groups, killed the tunguskas and let the AI do all the work. :)

Wow man I am astonished that you completed everything by yourself with what was given. And it was not that much. Must have been lucky 97/105 drops!

Well two CBUs on the two armor groups after i took out the SAM threat with my two mavs.

which took out most of the vehicles.

My AI went in for some mav shots, they each fired off one mav, NONE of them at the AA, they each got one kill, but they each got shot down.

I stood back and watch it all unfold.

Then swooped in and cleaned house.

2 thousand pounds of fuel left by the time i landed, and 200 rounds of gun left.

I flew the mission yesterday with two squad mates. We had a lot of fun with it. Good design, good story. Recommend it to everyone. Legs are a little bit short for my taste. Will surely fly again. And again.

Legs = way between waypoints. From takeoff to first target is just enough time to get in formation and fence in, then the action starts. I'm aware that a lot of people like it this way. Personally I would prefer a larger distance between homeplate and target area. For example: t/o in Vaziani, divert: Kutaisi

What I really like: the pressure you're under when the 2 convoys are closing in to the crashsite. Even when you attack them they don't stop to get slaughtert.

Oh boy, absolutely... I am up for long legs!

I also find it a bit tight. But it's just about bearable. Any other airport would make no sense mission wise. Fail by me and it would be too much work to rebuild stuff. I'm glad you think like I do though. :)

Also - you can take off NOT into the direction of the target zone, that gives you enough time to do everything you need.

I've just tried this mission but I'm unable to talk to my wingmen.

I've entered the correct freqs into both the UHF & VHF radios, I can hear my wingmen on the radio but they just don't listen to me. They don't follow a single order...

Am I forgetting something? I'm not used to work with the realistic radios.

Thanks

Rick

Mh. Everything works fine for me.

I'll just try to give quick tips:

Correct frequencies?

Are you using the UHF radio to talk to your wingmen?

Thats all I can think of. It's not really my job to explain how the radio system works, go into other forums for that. :)

Sorry for the radio questions,

I've found that the problem was on my side, I didn't use the HOTAS Mic switch.

Radio issues are solved now.

I've just 1 more remark. It seems that the mission doesn't work in DCS World.

A known issue?

Greetings

Rick

I'm having a problem with this mission, i cant fly it! :(

Whenever i load the mission it seems to freeze just after selecting open. I cant even get to the briefing page. This affects both the SP and MP versions of the mission.

Funny thing is the software doesn't freeze completely as i can still press alt-F4 to get the "Do you really want to exit" question, it just stops with a spinning wheel cursor and "Loading..." visible on the screen.
