Mechanist Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Tested with both A-10C and Su-25T and the M163 Vulcan AAA don't use its radar while engaging. Here are the tracks: http://mh59.mgszki.hu/users/_mech/DCSW/VulcanA10.trk http://mh59.mgszki.hu/users/_mech/DCSW/VulcanSu25T.trk "Fighters make movies, bombers make history."
Reicht4 Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 (edited) I've another type of bug for AAA's but very similar with yours. Lets say you are flying about 1000 meters high from shilka and it's not firing but can lock you at the same time. If you fly same heading (as path autopilot in su25t) shilka never breaks the lock. Ummm i saw him continuing his lock from 60 km away :) http://www.2shared.com/file/EFV6zXaw/server-20120527-032041.html Shilka is excellent AI, as you said before engaged without radar warning. After is mine. Edited May 27, 2012 by Reicht4
Eddie Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 The Vulcan's "RADAR" is a very small system that is used to derive range to a target only, it doesn't search for or track targets. It's not really a RADAR system at all, it's a radio range finder.
