DCS AWACS:

Take command of the air operations and make air support to the battlefield a bless for your side and a nightmare to the enemy. DCS: AWACS give you the control of your air units over the battlefield, controling IA units to gain superiority and give closse air support to the ground forces.

Play DCS: AWACS as a real time strategy game, a first person air warfare simulation, or direct the air battle from the cockpit of a DCS aircraft like the A-10C Warthog, Ka-50 Black Shark, or P-51D Mustang.

DCS: AWACS supports both single player and multiplayer gameplay. When in multiplayer, different players can take on different roles such as Ground Control Intercept, AWACS commander, pilots, etc. DCS: AWACS allows you full control of the battle. All roles can be changed dynamically during the battle.

Command Roles

A new function that AWACS introduces is the ability to set air command roles and the number of players that can take each role (for multiplayer). Roles include:

• Ground Control Intercept take the rol of Air Defense commander that control Air defense units and Air intercet and Air Superiority Missions, give missions, and priorize battlefield air defense cover

• AWACS that control all types of friendly air forces and coordinate to the GCI players to control air IA and players missions.

• Base commander can take the rol of Air Traffic Control the landings and take offs of your base controls, coordinate with the AWACS, and managed the base resources, repairing, planning missions and availibility of air force.

• AFACs that provide unique features to designate ground targets for close air support.

• Game Masters that see and control all units from both sides.

• Observers that can view all of the action, but not direct any units.

Mission designers can choose which of these roles to include in a mission and how many multiplayer slots for each one.

In addition to the air command roles, players can also direct ground forces from the cockpit of their DCS aircraft.

AFAC

The Air Forward Air Controller (AFAC) is an important role on the multiplayer battlefield, allowing AFAC players to designate targets for players in DCS aircraft and coordinate missions with JTACs. Using the designator sistem view, AFACs can use night vision goggles, thermal viewers, laser range finders, laser designators with programmable laser codes, IR pointer, and colored smoke to mark targets. The AFAC can be a true force multiplier.
