Hi guys, well it's that time again in my life, when I need to start looking at building a new pc.

Now I've been away from the whole pc building front for a number of yrs. I have a plan for what I would like the pc to do, and was wondering what others think the way forward is.

Ok the PC needs to be able to run at 5670 x 1080, pref connections for 4 screens min to allow above res and a monitor for Helios.

Would love the machine to be able to run my sims, at high or above graphic options.

Main sims will be, DCS, ROF, FSX and possible COD ( if it will run it ) the machine will also be used to run BF3 and ARMA 3 when it comes out.

Thinking min quad core, 3 ghz + , 16 GB DDR3, was thinking a min of 2TB storage and poss SSD for Windows. On top of that GPU with min 2GB VRAM. However not sure who's the best firm to go with.

Intel or AMD

No need for monitors, keyboard or mouse or windows 7 64bit

My budget is £1500

So guys, is a machine that covers these options doable or am I being too optimistic.

Looking forward to your answers, hopefully they will help me to get my pc of my dreams. Planning a family so this could well be my last PC, so want to make it as future proof as possible.

My current Specs are in my sig below. Sadly this machine is really struggling these days to run in 5760 x 1080. Need to have it on medium with most of the special effects turned off :(

For that sort of money you could have the best computer in the world

i7-3960

Asus P8Z68 -V Pro mobo

gtx590 x 2

Do you really really need 16gb ram - Corsair, Kingston Hyper X are quality ram

Corsair CMPSU-750TX Series 80 Plus PSU

Have it water cooled

Have a 120gb or higher (don't go for 60gb) SSD Crucial M4 for your OS and a few games and if cash permits get another SSD for the sake of it as it speeds up loading of everything (I can use my pc from switching it on to using any programme in 28secs - compared to the 3 mins with my old HD!)

Cooler Master Haf X case

MSI M5 z270 | Intel i5 7600k (OC) 4.8GHz | MSI GTX1080ti Gaming X 11Gb | 500gb Samsung 970 Evo NVME M.2 (DCS World) | 500gb Samsung 850 Evo SSD (OS and Apps) | 32Gb 2400MHz DDR4 - Crucial Ballistix | Be Quiet Silent Loop 240mm | NZXT H440 case |

Thrustmaster Warthog - 47608 with Virpil Mongoose joystick base | MFG Crosswinds - 1241 | Westland Lynx collective with Bodnar X board | Pilot's seat from ZH832 Merlin | JetSeat | Oculus Rift S | Windows 10 | VA |

For £1500 you may want to be smart at choosing these components if you want to squeeze in both enough CPU and GFX power.

CPU: Sandy/ivy bridge socket 1155 are the best gaming CPU's right now. Anything more than that is a waste of money (short of wanting a server or 3D workstation that need extra cores).

Just choose whatever is cheapeast among the following CPU's : I5 2500K or I5 3570K .

MOBO: You need a motherboard to go along, like the ASUS P8Z77-M PRO. Its cheap and not too high end but it gets your needs statisfied for DCS. Avoid spending too much here, just enough for your demands. Youll need the cash put elsewhere for the horsepower.

GFX: the GTX590's have been discontinued a long time ago and they probably cannot be found anymore (dont recall them able to run 4 monitors either). A good bet would be a GTX 690 or 2 GTX680's. maybe 2 GTX 670's if your left with less money.

Power supply: if your going to be running a dual GPU setup, I recommend Corsair 750W-850W PSU, either the TX or AX versions(difference is that AX is fully modular and you can swap cables around the plugs or remove the ones you dont need).

RAM: Just go for 1600MHz Dual channel DDR3 of the lowest latency you can find. Either 7 or 8 timings are good.

PC case: Best bang for the buck: Cooler master 690II advanced. Its got 2 large fans for silence and good airflow.

CPU cooler. Most efective cooler for the smalles size would be the corsair H80. I got the H60 cooling my 2500@4.5GHZ no problem! :)

Last but not least an SSD, 120GB size minimum. Trust me that it is as important as a CPU or GFX.

I suggest Samsung 830 Series or the Vertex 4. IMHo the best blend between reliability and performance.

Put the OS and games on the SSD and the rest on the HDD if you have one to spare.

bundle pack - £414.95

PALIT GTX680 PCIE3.0 4GB DDR5 JETSTREAM - £519.99
