ED, is it possible to make the future manuals in A4 format?

I printed manuals of BS, A-10c and P-51d and I find there is 'wasted' or 'too much blank' places on the pages. I tried to convert it but it's a pain! And the result is not good.

I just run them on 8.5x11 with crop marks and cut them down to 6.875 x 8.875 and they look great.

Why don't you just scale your prints to A4 size while printing with Acrobat - that way the page is filled out better too. The image quality "loss" through scaling does not matter that much I think ...

@Sithspawn: I've tried with custom value but I always found it unsat. I'll try your values. Thanks.

 

Anyway, the pages might be more 'filled'. I don't know how to explain. A4 can be filled with more lines than the current format, we could have more text to read per page, and less pages to print out. (But this involve a complete re-edit in word, text and image placements,...).

 

I could do it by myself (I tried) but if I can copy/paste the PDF text in a word, I still have problem importing the images and the 'subtexts'. And if I recall well, the text formatting goes out as well.

 

I could do it but I would need the .doc; which is unavailable because editable. (And I don't know if ED would like to see their manuals to be edited)

 

But, if ED is OK, I can re-arrange it in A4 for them (and correct index page, which should be corrected). Than, could they propose 2 versions of the same manual.

I just want to help.

I work in a printshop so I can general set the files up for printing (bleed, crops, etc), so if you need a hand let me know, dunno if I would be allowed to upload a more print friendly version to ED's site, but maybe we could figure something out.
