RWR Not detecting SAM Launchers?

Before 1.2.0 I would play the Russian Foothills instant action mission and somewhere between steerpoint 3 and 4 I'd get a SA-?? locking on to me and soon after launching a missile, both showing up on the RWR, but now on 1.2.0 I get a missile warning, but no warning of a launcher locking on to me, or even present. Basically looks as if though the missile is appearing from thin air. Am I doing something wrong or is this a glitch?

I see only strela-1's in the mission - they should not show on the RWR - only MWS.

Thats odd :/ Well I'll go back to 1.1.2.1 later today and check it out and get some video of it if I notice it again.

Strela-1 fires an IR missile and has no radar for tracking. This is why for you on the MWS it would give you a warning after it has fired and make it appear as if its already in the air. (because it is) the MWS will detect launches, as it did with the Strela launch.

Manpads igla/sterla and depending on the model of Zu 23 have no launch warnings at all...what makes them deadly in real life also,

 

best i could say is if you flying into manpad nation set a slow release of flare program to start dispensing flares and move fast and exfil asap, i hate auto flare even though sometimes its a needed evil, considering it picks up friendly launches and dumps my CM :p
