cfarsr Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 So after having had my attention turned to DCS World in another post, I have found myself with even more questions. I haven't deactivated either BS1 or A10 for starters. First, what do I download to be able to use BS1 and A10? Is it just DCS World or do I need to download BS1 and A10 as well? If I need to download both A10 and BS1, is it just 1.2.0? And last for now, will I be able to use the training missions and normal missions for each? Thanks, Chris
Runibl Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 For DCS World you need: DCS World v1.2.0 and the ones that are compatible (And yes require seperate download, but the modules are not that big, and you only need to download what you own) are: DCS A-10C Warthog v1.2.0 DCS KA-50 Black Shark 2 v1.2.0 (Needs to be BS2. BS1 is not supported in world as far as i know). DCS P-51D Mustang v1.2.0 DCS Combined Arms v1.2.0 Oh and note thats V1.2.0 and not v1.1.2.0 This seems to confuse a few. Runi. Slayer Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 You don't have to deactivate, it reads your existing key from the registry. DCSW and older versions are completely independant of each other . You cannot use your BS1 key with DCS:World you must either purchase the upgrade from BS1 to BS2 or buy a new BS2 liscense. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=13&end_pos=136&lang=en That is the link to download the BS2 Upgrade module version for DCSW http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?scr=product&ProductId=8&end_pos=136&lang=en That is the link for the A-10C module. After you have installed the new modules for DCS: World you really don't need to keep the old games installed and can uninstall if you want to free up HD space. cfarsr Posted July 15, 2012 Author Posted July 15, 2012 Ok, so just A10 will work in the world. Will I still be able to take full advantage of all it's missions and training?
Runibl Posted July 15, 2012 Posted July 15, 2012 Should be able to use all of the A-10C missions and related material, you just won't be able to use any of the other modules. Training missions seem to have a known bug though, with not hearing voice. But should work fine otherwise Runi. cfarsr Posted July 15, 2012 Author Posted July 15, 2012 Ok. This should cover it for now. Thanks everyone.
