112th_Rossi Posted July 22, 2012 Posted July 22, 2012 This is my first major mission that I have produced. So I thought I would share it to get your opinion. I've not had a proper chance to try it out in multiplayer although it is designed with multiplayer in mind. Units involved are A10C (5) KA50 (2) and JTAC Humvees (3) for human JTAC recon. The humvees are invisible and invincible so players can always relay targetting info. The story line is a bit far fetched but its fun all the same. BRIEFING: GELENDZHIK 0630HRS OPERATION SPARTAN Georgian sepratists have started an offensive move against the port of Gelendzhik. Sources say they are attempting to disrupt imports and seize supplies to help their cause. A token defensive force remains in place on the outskirts of the town. They will not withstand such a heavy assault. It is your job to ensure that enemy units have a hard time reaching Gelendzhik! Read briefing and analyse the recon chart. TASK: Depart from Gelendzhik airbase and proceed enroute. When you are close to the engagement area forward recon will provide targetting information. It is beleived that the sepratist forces have reinforcments in the villages through out the valley in which they are making their approach. If they are reinforced then it may overwhelm the hastily assembled forces at Gelendzhik. You must ensure that forces are depleated to such a degree that this cannot happen. BE ADVISED! Recon reports MANPAD and SHORAD threats in the area! Be careful. Rearm and refuel at Gelendzhik airbase if required. Hope you enjoy it!

112th_Rossi Posted July 23, 2012 Author Posted July 23, 2012 It would be good to get some feedback on this. It's an ongoing project :)
Stoops417 Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Played this last night with a CA player and another A-10. We REALLY enjoyed it! Personally I liked the aspect of having the fight be reasonably close to the airfield and the tension of it continuing to get closer and closer to the defenses. The smoke and update messages were a nice touch as well.
112th_Rossi Posted July 23, 2012 Author Posted July 23, 2012 Wow thanks :) If you have any suggestions then please let me know. I'll be around tonight for a game or two :)
Stoops417 Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Wow thanks :) If you have any suggestions then please let me know. I'll be around tonight for a game or two :) Unfortunately I wasn't the CA player and didn't understand the issue but as I recall he said he had to drive out to the units instead of being able to take control of them at the start. Not sure if that was by design or something that needed to be adjusted.
112th_Rossi Posted July 23, 2012 Author Posted July 23, 2012 Hmm. Well I positioned the Hummers so that you would need to drive around to find the enemy on the road. I thought it would be more fun that way.
Toothcake Posted July 23, 2012 Posted July 23, 2012 Hmm. Well I positioned the Hummers so that you would need to drive around to find the enemy on the road. I thought it would be more fun that way. The issue is that the unarmed HMMVs aren't directly controllable. It wasn't a big deal to drive a Bradley or something up to provide functional JTAC, it was just a little time consuming.
