ajax Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Once in the PVI, the flight lead .can. send to the rest of the flight via datalink: 1. Enter coords in PVI-800 as a target or nav point. 2. Select new target (or nav) point on PVI-800. (Marker should be flashing on ABRIS.) 3. Select datalink icon, press Send/Mem, reset datalink. 4. Coords are now selectable on the ABRIS and can be sent like any other target.

This is completely wrong Nothing will flash on the abris when selecting a waypoint in the PVI-800 because the systems are not interconnected.
Puddlemonkey Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 It's not wrong. When you select a TARGET/NAV point, it flahes on the ABRIS. I think you are confusing Waypoints with Target/Nav points. PM

PM Sorry for not looking it up right know but, how do you tell the PVI if it´s a NAV coord point or Target coord point (TP/NP) and NOT a waypoint? Edited August 19, 2012 by red2112 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ajax Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 (edited) In the PVI-800 edit mode, press the NAV/TGT button, the target number (e.g. "1" if this is the first TGT pt.), then enter coordinates. Edited August 19, 2012 by ajax inserted word for clarity
ajax Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Thanks, PM. Djembe, you should try it before rejecting it categorically.

djembe Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 I've read 2 times the part of ABRIS and PVI-800 that has the manual and have not found anything. Anybody can tell me where it says in the manual this function between PVI and Abris?
ajax Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 Page 11-8 of the BS manual: To send Target Point coordinates created in the PVI-800 navigation system: 1. Press the "ОТ" (Target point) push-light button on Navigation Control panel (button will light up). 2. Select the TP ID using the Navigation Control panel keypad. The number will then be displayed on the Navigation Control panel display and the ABRIS will have a blinking marker point as well. 3. Press the desired target type or ingress point push-light button on the Data Link panel (button will light). 4. Select recipient(s) number or all (button will light). 5. Press the "ПРД/ПАМ" (Send/Memory) button (button will light briefly).
ajax Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 This is actually simpler than my earlier post: it leaves out saving the point in ABRIS by resetting the targeting system (backspace). I did not know that.
