ESA_Mirmidon Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 Well i have a question to all ED developers and beta testers. With the new improved missiles flight path, new FOV of IR and ARH missiles and other changes in missiles behaviour what´s the most REALISTIC setting in the effectiveness slider? Thanks for your reply.
GGTharos Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 50% [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

Sinner6 Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 When I set my MES to %50, the mav-d's have a heck of a time hitting anything. Also, with the new changes to IR missiles, a %50 setting means you better have a PERFECT aspect on your target or again, the missile will...uh....miss. I am not trying to dispute GGT here, but I will say that I prefer a setting of %95 as this allows my missiles to ocassionally hit a target and keeps the enemy SAMS from shooting down half my a2g missiles (as will happen if slider is at %100) A grain of salt has been sent out to you for use with this post. :)
Jason76 Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 It's personal preference, but for me, a setting of 90% works well. Mainly for the sake of the AMRAAM.
GGTharos Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 Yeah, well, them poor missiles are quite aspect-sensitive ;) They happen to miss a -lot- in real life too when the aspect's wrong and CM's are being used and so on and so forth. Nicely documented on some videos even ;) As for the mavs, they should have a very good hit rate 'out of the box'. Not sure what the problem is there - people have reported mavs not hitting stuff before, and almost always the solution was a clean re-install of the game.
