Hi,

I had used my joystick with rudder function for years.

When I turned it to the right my nose went to the right side and when I turned it to the left, my nose went to the left side.

After purchasing a TM Warthog few weeks ago I bought Saitek rudders yesterday. And now im confused: When I push the right foot the plane turns right and vice versa.

But if you look onto the rudders from above you turn the axis to the left while pushing the right foot. So I assumed that pushing your right foot should produce a left turn and pushing the left foot a right turn. :joystick:

Is this the normal rudder behavior as it should be in a plane, or do I have to invert axes? :doh:

Best regards

Thanks,

now I know that I have to relearn flying with rudders.

For me it still feels as if you turn your car's steering wheel to the left for a right turn.

@Quantenpresbyterianer

As you I've been using a joystick for years and received my TM Warthog and rudders just a week ago. My first takeoff ended in the fields. :D

I know how you feel with the rudders. I had big problems trying to use them as they should be so I gave up and inverted the axis, after all its not like im gonna fly for real..

Exactly! I had this issue too. I've got Saitek pedals two weeks ago. Still learning and improving. And it's getting easier to control aircraft day by day.

Keep practicing. :joystick:
