mr_mojo97 Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Hi all just thought I'd show you my attempt - I wouldn't exactly call it a cockpit as such as I need the desk for normal stuff other than flying the A-10. Really all I want to start with were switches and buttons involved with the start up procedure. Most panels are in a rough correct configuration and all work as normal through Helios. The only issues I'm having at the moment are those that have been selected to be used on a BU0836X card to the POV switch - there sems to be a some conflicts when several buttons are switched on - but maybe I can work it out, or maybe I can just get another board from Leo Bodnar. I've also got a spare 19in monitor on the right side but not sure if I'll use that or not - seems a waste not to use it though. I'm also useing a Logitech G13 as my UFC - I wanted to build one myself to the approximate correct dimensions and maybe I will in the future but not yet as this does fine. What I do want is to be able to fit potentiometers and 3 or 4 position rotary switches for steerpoint and page dials and for cockpit illumination etc but I have no idea how to do this - if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be very much appreciated MSI M5 z270 | Intel i5 7600k (OC) 4.8GHz | MSI GTX1080ti Gaming X 11Gb | 500gb Samsung 970 Evo NVME M.2 (DCS World) | 500gb Samsung 850 Evo SSD (OS and Apps) | 32Gb 2400MHz DDR4 - Crucial Ballistix | Be Quiet Silent Loop 240mm | NZXT H440 case | Thrustmaster Warthog - 47608 with Virpil Mongoose joystick base | MFG Crosswinds - 1241 | Westland Lynx collective with Bodnar X board | Pilot's seat from ZH832 Merlin | JetSeat | Oculus Rift S | Windows 10 | VA |
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted August 26, 2012 ED Team Posted August 26, 2012 (edited) Rotary switches are connected to your BU0836X just like switches, the middle is ground and then the other connections are basically button press's. The conflict you are having with the pov is that when more than one is selected, it uses one of the positions of a 8 way pov which isnt mapped. If you want to use the pov on the BU0836X for switches and not a pov you need to carefully selected switches that will not conflict. For example I use my pov on the same board as momentary push buttons, as they are not always selected at the same time there is no problem with conflicting button pushes P.S Nice start for your pit, it get's addictive running a pit and the fun never stops lol Edited August 26, 2012 by BIGNEWY Forum rules - DCS Crashing?
