Hello, noob here, I'm a flight sim enthusiast from way back with Janes, EAW, Microsoft, IL-2 and more but I'm a newbie in the DCS world. This weekend I loaded DCS World and the P-51 mod. I have to say it's fantastic and I've been enjoying it for the past few days.

But the game will lock up and crash intermittently and has no pattern to it at all. I've tried several video adjustments with no luck. I've made sure that I have nothing extra running in the background as well. The game runs good and smooth and performs well until the random lock up. I currently have iRacing and IL-2 Cliffs of Dover installed and have no issues with either one of them. I'm running an I5 Intel quad core 2500K, 16gigs of ram, 2 6870 video cards in crossfire configuration with 3 Samsung 24" monitors. However, I am not running the latest video driver's which I guess will be my next change in hopes of resolving this issue. I've done some searching on the forum here and found issues discussed with the drivers and Radeon cards, but I haven't found any discussions of lockup and game crashing issues.

If there are any suggestions or know fixes they would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Thought I would add that my operating system is Windows 7 64bit Home edition

I also loaded the game in the default location of the Program File's directory and not the Program FilesX86 directory, could that possibly be an issue?

1. Reinstall DCS World and module's as "Administrator" (right click and select run as admin)

2. Set the sim to run as "Administrator"

3. Disable UAC.

UAC is disabled, but I will try a fresh install, should I install it in the default location?

When reinstalling, will it be nec to deactivate my license first?

No need to deactivate.

You can install to the same folder but I recommend renaming or deleting the old one first. Also locate and rename/delete the DCS folder in "Saved Games".

I normally install to a folder like "DCSW" or similar.

No problem. Hope it works this time :D

Also when going from one version to the next I always rename the current folder and place the version in the folder name so it's easy to go back. Like "DCSW-1.2.0". And then I run the new FULL version as administrator and install it again to "DCSW". If the new install is no good i just renam the new one "DCSW-BAD" and rename the old version to "DCSW" again. readdy to play :D

I decided to download all files again from a different server, uninstalled the game including deleting the Saved Game files, reloaded and all is well!

In fact, I've noticed several things that are different.

Thanks again. I'm glad it was simple.
