Hi and a Question on DCS world 1.2

Hi guys,

I have been flying DCS for a while now, mostly A-10 and now some P-51. Hello to all!

 

I have an issue and need some help/answers. My problem is this... I start A-10 and it shows 1.1.1.1 then to start P-51 the icon says DCS World? OK, I hit it and it says 1.1.2.1...

 

When I go to A-10 MultiPlayer there are only 1 or 2 servers and I can't see a DCS world version so I'm not sure If I'm up to date. Am I using 1.1.2.1 in A-10 as well (DCS world)??

 

Is the reason there are so few servers because I'm not running 1.2?

 

Do I need to move to 1.2 or stay with what I have (I am thinking there are more servers and I'm missing out on some MP flying? Is this true?)

If you are using v1.1.2.1 you are using a beta version that is now obsolete. You do indeed need the current version, which is v1.2.0 and can be downloaded from digitalcombatsimulator.com. Also on that site are modules for A-10C, BS2, P-51D (beta) and Combined Arms (beta).

 

So procedure is simply to remove the install you have (since it is a beta version), then download and install DCS World version 1.2.0, and then any module(s) you have a license for.

Wow,

 

that was fast. To be clear... I must uninstall DCS World and also uninstall Both P51 and DCS A-10?? Is that correct?

 

Then I download (again) the newest installs of P-51 and A-10 and reinstall them. Will this count as one of my 10 installs?

Yes, go ahead and uninstall what you have. It is obsolete for the most part though some servers are still running that version of A-10.

 

It will not count toward your ten since it will see the activations existing in your registry.

 

 

EDIT: Also, you should delete/rename your C:\Users\<you>\Saved Games\DCS folder so DCS World can create a fresh one. There is also a Saved Games\DCS Warthog but DCS World doesn't know about it so it does not matter if is there or not when you reinstall.

I will try to save my joystick stuff but it's not gone well in the past and a mission or 2 I'll try to copy them back into the directories after.

Copying back for P-51 should but with A-10 make sure to copy back only the joystick and such without the keyboard files or you will break something. If you run into problems after copying the files back in, you can get the sim to reset every thing by just deleting the Saved Games\DCS\Config folder and it will be rewritten with clean files when you go back in.

 

I've spent some time in Annapolis but it has been many years now.

Looks like I'm reinstalled and I''m gonna try to run A-10 and setup my joystick... and see if my missions run. Then to Multi player.
