I had Helios installed on Win7 x64 and it was working normally and loading profiles in the editor didn't take more than a few seconds.

I've now moved to another Win7 x64 install on a separate partition, with less stuff installed, to try and fix some stuttering problems I was having in DCS World/BS2.

In the new Win7, when I tried to load a profile into the editor it just showed the loading circle for ages, then that just froze and clicking on the Window said it was not responding or it crashed. If I leave it for a few minutes it does eventually load the profile though.

I completely uninstalled Helios (checked the folder was deleted) and re-installed it (v1.2.176) just in case some corrupt files were lingering.

The problem affects the Control Centre as well. When clicking start, it takes 2.5-3mins before the profile appears on the second monitor. If I then click Stop then Start again it loads almost instantly. When clicking Power Off there's a long delay, maybe a minute, before it closes as well.

Has anyone any ideas what might be causing this? I have posted in the Helios forums but it seems a bit quiet at the moment and it's obviously annoying having this wierd bug when everything else seems fine.

Have you tried more than one profile? Maybe try using the .bak file renamed to the profile extention.

For stutters, give D3D Overrider a try. It is free, find it at Guru3D website. Place it in a folder, create a profile for DCS, then check force Triple Buffer.

It happens with both the Higgins and Loz BS2 profiles, whether original or reset. The Scooter F16C profiles load OK as do some other older ones. I thought maybe it was to do with the the extra interfaces in Higgins (MFD, X52) but it hangs loading other profiles with only Keyboard & Mouse (paulrkiii DCS A-10C, Spike BS)

The Control Center crashes when clicking up/down to cycle through the profiles, whether there's only my Higgins reset profile in the folder, or only a couple of profiles that load without problem in the editor. These are the errors it produces:

Thanks for the tip about Triple Buffering. I've been meaning to reinstall the latest Radeon Pro, so I might try that or D3D overrider.

Sorted. I reverted to a True Image backup of Windows and Helios loads the profiles in normal time now :)
