Warning from computer

In the last month I have done some up grading to my computer. Asus Z77 mb and Sapphire HD 7970. I was playing DSC World Midnight Run mission and I get a red warning triangle with 3.3 in the center. I dont know what it is for. Any Ideas.:(

I would assume that this is a warning from the software suite that comes with the Asus motherboard, most likely it is warning that it has detected low (or high) voltage on some component. (Whether it is high or low depends on which component it is talking about.)

 

I have the older, P67 version, version of the Sabertooth and I have personally found this specific voltage detection system on the Sabertooths to be a bit flaky and have reduced myself to simply ignoring them; as long as they are talking about VIN1, AVCC, 3VCC, VIN4 and VIN6 at least. If it's talking about CPU VCORE or something like that it's more serious, but a 3.3 on VCORE is unlikely here - if that happened your computer would most likely have exploded already. :P

I have no idea what VIN1, AVCC, 3VCC, VIN4 and VIN6 is:music_whistling:. I can build a computer and thats about it. Im hoping that my computer case is good enough for my new system. Its a rack mount case. Just want to make sure that my computer stays running good.

Generally I'd say you're probably doing fine. Next time you see it, try to remember the entire message and more certainty can be achieved.

 

(And just to be sure: this is just a popup message right, not something that causes the computer to shut down or otherwise behave abnormally?)

Yes just a pop up message. Computer stays running. Messages like this never stay up long enough to see the full message.

3.3 Is a voltage rail off your PSU

 

+3.3 V Chipsets, some DIMMs, PCI/AGP/PCIe cards, miscellaneous chips

 

Maybe try a different power connector off your PSU for your graphics card?
