Bluedrake42 Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 So I'm rather dissapointed... even though I'm covered by warranty but regardless I JUST got my TM Warthog in yesterday and the past 24 hours has been a flurry of simulator joy However that all came screeching to a halt when 4 hours ago my joystick quit working I was flying the KA50, I went into the theater map, and when I came back, I couldn't bank I couldn't pitch, couldn't use any of the hats, the throttle was fine, but the stick was non-functional I've called the TM support staff, and they walked me through a few things to no avail Its likely a firmware failure or something... and I'm going to have to send it in But before I do... I was hoping maybe someone... ANYONE could have another solution I hope this isn't a common problem, but if anyone else has had this happen I'd like to know Thanks so much http://www.youtube.com/bluedrake42 Subscribe to me
cichlidfan Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 From your description and TMs response, I would have already have it in transit. Slap_Chop Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Sorry to hear that Blue. It's probably just a cold solder joint or something silly like that. I fixed electronics for years and stuff happens. I don't have the stick but a lot of folks around here do and I don't hear a lot of complaints about them either. You probably got a MONDAY stick. Back in the day if your car was a lemon they used to call it a MONDAY car. People all hung over and tired from the weekend came back to work at the auto plant and built MONDAY cars. Bet when you get that new stick back it's gonna work fine. You just need a TUESDAY stick. The lack of responses to your inquiry here should be encouraging. :smilewink: I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy and I've had both. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
apd1004 Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Have you tried it with other flight sims (non ED)? Have you tried it on a different computer? It's a well made product which works well pretty much plug and play, and I'm having a hard time believing it's a hardware problem or even a firmware problem. Uninstalling and re-installing drivers, TARGET, etc? You'll really be disappointed if you get a replacement and it does the same thing.
cichlidfan Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 I guess you missed this part of the OPs post. I've called the TM support staff, and they walked me through a few things to no avail Based on experience with TM, I would say that the stick is really broken since they try really hard to make sure it is not something else before recommending a replacement. apd1004 Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 I saw it. Just saying that there may be more ways to validate it really being broke than what the support staff offered over the phone. I think I have more confidence in the product itself than I do in their support staff. Anyway, I hope you get your issue resolved soon. It really is a great product.
