LFCChameleon_Silk Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 (edited) how do you do this? surely there is a way, not much fun when some monkeyspanker comes in and decides to do a 360 around my starting up ka-50 and soon as im airborn puts some cannon rounds into me, then proceeds to own everything in the battlefield. probably cheats as well is what i'm thinking as well as being a monkeyspanker! there must be a way -.- but searching forums has found me nothing related to "ban" "server commands" anything... i realize it has no dedicated server exe but tell me there is a way other then guessing his IP and blocking him in my firewall cause thats gonna have a lot of collateral damage. this is not the first time i have seen a griefer either. sobek Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 (edited) Please understand that this forum is not a place to settle any multiplayer quarrels. Please keep any names out of this and your queries professional. Regarding your question: i'm not sure if Servman works with DCS World, but you might want to check it out. Edited September 22, 2012 by sobek Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
LFCChameleon_Silk Posted September 22, 2012 Author Posted September 22, 2012 yea rather then what i was gonna write i will just say sure sobek to avoid anymore unprofessional language and quarrels. thanks for the :helpsmilie: mod.
WildBillKelsoe Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 there are 2 ways to remedy this: 1- peaceful approach. In your mission situation/briefing (whichever appears to lobby before they join), you can put a funny remark like (the password is the addition of 1 plus 1 for non-spawn killers). 2- rugged approach. Password the server or add trigger to kill units above X feet inside the radius of the base after 45 seconds from takeoff. This will make everybody clear the immediate airspace. so 185 kts is 2.65 miles from base @ 45 seconds. AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.
sobek Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 thanks for the :helpsmilie: mod. Sorry, but i'm not the right person to ask in this case as i'm not running a server myself. Stick around a little and i'm sure you'll get the info you want. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
LFCChameleon_Silk Posted September 22, 2012 Author Posted September 22, 2012 no i don't like these solutions and i shouldn't have to password my server because of 1 in 100 players deciding that something would be funny. i would rather netstat and add firewall rule which is a really poor way of doing it but would achieve exactly what i want to deny them a connection to my server.
sobek Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 As i already suggested, take a look at this. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
LFCChameleon_Silk Posted September 22, 2012 Author Posted September 22, 2012 no that was my sub for the word i wanted to call him so i wasn't banned from the DCS forum in my rage. this topic can be closed / removed as i have found out the latest servman works with DCS world 1.2.0 thank you for your help.
sobek Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 (edited) thank you for your help. You are very welcome. I don't think monkeyspanker was the offenders' name :D LOL :) Edited September 22, 2012 by sobek Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
