Viewsonic VA2703-LED monitor

Does anyone own one of these and uses 1 or more in DCS?

 

I am leaning towards buying 3 of them to try out 3 monitors setup for main view (using 3 camera views - not wide FoV)

 

I am liking the price (I have found them for AU$225), the 3ms (typ) response time and it's 27" (I think this size is good enough, any larger and it costs my left arm and a leg). DVI-D and VGA connector is enough for me so I don't worry about HDMI or DP input, but I worry that monitor is not of good quality (most cheap stuff is not of good quality, which is why its cheap :music_whistling:) so I need to hear hands on experience if you have them.

 

Is there "leaking" backlight issue?

 

Also if I do get them I am plannig to take off the plastic casing to minimise bezel width so in case you have one and have tried taking bezel off can you say how wide is the metal bezel holding the panel itself?

I did not read them but, in case you had not looked, there are quite a few good reviews on Amazon FWIW.

Thanks, I read the comments and there were 2 people laying it has some backlight bleed on top/bottom... I am aware lot of TN panels have this, one of the 22" Samsung's I bought has it also, but on2 24" Samsung (which was more expensive) and ASUS 24" IPS panel, do not have any.

 

I know the high(er) price probably warants the better quality (which they both really are) but I am taking now 3 such monitors into consideration, it gets lot more expensive to get 3 good quality panels... I am hard thinking what I should do :)

I know the feeling. I keep wanting to give three screens a shot but I really like my U2711@2560x1440 and I don't like thinking about buying three of them. They were over $900 when I bought the first one about a year ago.

Cool. I hope it works out. The idea of 3 27" screens is really tempting.
