-Mop- Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Since installing 1.2.1 i´m not able to use the datalink for target-/NAV TGT-/Ingresspoint-designation... i´m absolutely shure, that i´m doing it the same way i have been doing it for the last 2 years... does sombody else got aware of this problem? The manual says, that before using the Datalink you should be shure that my wingmen and i use the same vhf-Frequency... i have to admit, that i never payed attention to this... it just worked well, so i didn´t have to... for my understanding: Which frequency the manual is talking about? where can i change it?
Laggsy Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Yeah -Mop-, I am having the same problem. Even installed the Interactive training missions and did as instructed - still did not work. When I select a target type (Target Flashes on ABBRIS), then a wingman, hit send. The 'Send/Mem' stays flashing, indicating a problem. Search this forum and tried some of the suggestions - Still no joy. I have tried this on my standalone BS2 install (1.1.1.1) - Works fine. AlaskanGrizzly Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 It is a known bug. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=94966
Laggsy Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 OK. Thanks. I don't want to sound too negative, I love the detail gone in to these sims. But, with this and the unplayable FPS when firing rockets, I am going to stick with the standalone version for now. This version feels a bit 'Beta'. codenamepanzer Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 I created a mission with 3 wingmen and multiple targets. In the mission editor you have a field COM that gives you the frequency used by the flight (I think it is 124 Mhz by default). Check you have the right radio frequency displayed on your radio. In flight give an order to join formation to test the frequency. At take off you have to hear the report of you wingmen. Then do the procedure for data link: lock target, choose type, wignman 2 3 or 4, then send. I tested it yesterday and it works fine.

Thx for your answer, but i think, as earlier mentioned, that this is a bug of the actual version... because talking to my wingmann isnt a problem... when i want them to attack a datalink target i always hear: "unable"... when try try to transmit a datalink-Target (of course after doing the "reset-thing" ;-)) the send/Mem-Button starts flashing... for me it was important to know, if the right datalink-frequency is used, when i am able to talk to my wingman by radion... so if the frequency selection of these both is connected to each other...
codenamepanzer Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 I never did a reset of the data link, is this the cause?
codenamepanzer Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 I suppose the datalink if fully operational: 1) Switches Data Link TLT & Data Link UHF-TLF ON (right panel near fire buttons) 2) PVTz-800: you are number 1. Put rotary on the mode "ВЕДОМ" (WING), elsewere you cannot transmit. Try the mission without resetting the data link. Anyway there is no way to choose de data link frequency.
ECV56_Tordo Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Interesting, codenamepanzer. I will try it when I back home from work! ECV56_Tordo Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 No. I have not success with your suggestion, codenamepanzer. Please... can you attach your miz? I can test it. Every time I try to send the target data to my wingman, the SEND button start flashing and he never received the data. If I order him to attack datalink target/targets, always respond "Unable". It's annoying fly the campaign without being able to control my wingman. It is practically unplayable in 1.2.1. In Multiplayer the datalink is working ok. codenamepanzer Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 here is the mission: On point 2 there are 4 Abrams, 2 HUMVEE and infantry. You have 3 wingmen with you ready to take off. you'll see that your wingmen use 2 vikhr by abrams and 1 vikhr by HUMVEE. Try it, i'm waiting for your reporting.Duf002 vikhr.miz
ECV56_Tordo Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 Thanks, friend! Local time for me is 04:39 pm now, in work again. This night I will test your mission and I go back here to report. ECV56_Tordo Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 (edited) No success, codenamepanzer. I play your miz, and the wingmen dont received the data. Only if I order "Attack my target", or "Engage Ground Targets", they engaged. But never attack datalink target or targets group. I attach the track just you can see what I do. Thanks for your interest  Version used: 1.2.1.6288 P/S: I dont know why I see all Ka-50 without textures in this mission. :huh:Test Wingman.trk Edited October 11, 2012 by ECV56_Tordo Added version [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] www.ecv56condor.com.ar AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE 3.4 8Gb Kingston 1333 Nvidia GTX 460 1Gb Saitek X-52 Pro Saitek Ruddels Pedals TIR 5 + Clip Pro Win 7 64b
codenamepanzer Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 I'll see the track this evening. Probably i use a skin you don't have. You can change it in the payload menu of the flight in the mission editor.
codenamepanzer Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Try to use the laser . Once locked with Shkval+Laser, the target can be transmitted via data link.
ECV56_Tordo Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Try to use the laser . Once locked with Shkval+Laser, the target can be transmitted via data link. You have seen my track? Are you able to see the data saved in the ABRIS before attempting to send it to my wingmen? How can I save the data in the ABRIS, if I had not used the Shkval+Llaser? Please, I dont pretend to test your patience. But can you record for me a track where you send the data to your wingmen, and then use the option "Attack datalink target/s" and they answer "afirmative"? I'd really appreciate. Maybe I are doing something wrong, and I dont able to see what is. Hopefully this is not a bug, and the datalink is working ok! RpSPT Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 I have this same problem. When I save target to Abris and then try to get AI wingmen to attack it in DCS World, AI answers unable. I am also missing AI reconnaissance in radio messages. AI recon is working on my BS2 standalone install. Is this feature removed from newest versions?
