Im new to Helios and been getting this RED X graphic in place of my UFC. I've checked and all the graphics are in the \Documents\Helios\Images folder. The MAP function does this as well. Anyone else experience this?

Thx

That means that there is a missing image file. Double check the path and file extensions on the image. Image path in Helios is relative to the Images folder you referenced.

Thanks, Ill try that. I did try installing a clean copy of LOZ's profile and got the same result so my guess is that the image paths are correct?

I see now what it was. Some of the image files Loz created are in their own folders and need to remain in their respective folders. My unzip I used unzipped ALL images into 1 file and that created the problem.

Thanks again Gadroc for the awesome software.

HELP Loz helios RED X's

Im getting these as well, but have no idea what your talking about with extracting into separate folders and all that technical stuff... i always ask people to explain it to me like im your mother and your explaining it to me over the phone LOL... I have extracted the files, and it seems like there were 3 resulting folders so i put the .hpf one on the desktop and opened it with helios... but most of the instruments have been replaced with XXXXX

Thank You very much, i am inching my way toward the ultimate flight sim experience!

The .hpf file should go in your My Documents\Helios folder. The red Xs are because the image called by the profile is not located in the path specified. You need to put the image files that came with the profile in the correct folder to fix that.

i dragged the "LOZ SM V2.1 .hpf" file from the list of things that i assume i extracted from the LOZ file in winrar... into my documents/helios... should i have extracted it into the my documents folder?

My mistake.

The hpf goes into the My Documents\Helios\Profiles folder. There should have been a bunch of image files and subfolders also. They go into the My Documents\Helios\Images folder.

If you still have trouble I will go look at his files structure and see if I can sort it out. I am working from memory here.

i just extracted it into a newly created folder in the my documents/helios... it only put the single .hpf file in the new folder... could it be that i initially extracted it into winrar and they all dumped out into there and now im just moving the hpf file around? so confusing... files everywhere! LOL

I could not speculate on what you might have done but now that you have a clean start...

Unless I am remembering incorrectly Loz has some documentation in there that might be helpful.

Just looked at his archive.

Put the hpf in Helios\Profiles

Put the CONTENTS of the Extract these Images folder into Helios\Images

In the folder MS33558FONT, put the ttf file into you Windows\Fonts folder. Windows will install the font.

That is all you need for the profile to work, assuming your exports and such are already taken care of .
