Ramstein Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Is there a way to add weapons from other aircraft on an F-15C? Is there any way to make it act like an F-15E with ground weapons. The reason I ask is because in the Ka-50 we can add air-to-ship missles (I forgot the name of those missles), even though they are not standard. I am not talking about hacking codes,, or mods.... (or mods per se.) Just wondered if you can do it without making it hack? (does that make sense)? Taking weapons from one aircraft, and somehow adding them to another aircraft. Thanx... :joystick: ASUS Strix Z790-H, i9-13900, WartHog HOTAS and MFG Crosswind G.Skill 64 GB Ram, 2TB SSD EVGA Nvidia RTX 2080-TI (trying to hang on for a bit longer) 55" Sony OLED TV, Oculus VR
nickmow Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 I did it with the L-39. Copied some of the SU-17 loadout lines to the L39, can't remember how but I'm at work, when I get home Ill look at it. Problem I had was the lines of text, don't mention what the actual weapon is, so It was a bit hit and miss. I was trying to get the AA IR missile (name escapes me) To make the L39 into an opponent for some dogfighting practice.
aap_flanker Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 With f-15e if you use the cockpit of a-10a, yes you will be able to use almost all the ground weapons... But if you are using the cockpit of the f-15c then you can't use it because it hasn't an air2ground function. This would be the steps: - find which weapons you want to add to your aircraft, for that search and open the file db_weapons.lua you will have a code and the description of the weapon (for ex, r77) - copy this code - open the .lua file of the desired aircraft, for example su-27.lua, it should be inside the main directory "scripts/" into some folder (use windows search tool) - identify the correct pylon where this weapon will be, and add a line with the copied code. When you do this, make sure that the line looks the same as the other already existing. -then save and ready! Be careful make backup copies of all the files that you want to edit and take into account that if you play online you can have some problems because of your teaked payload. nickmow Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Way better than the hit and miss way I did it, sorry for not getting back sooner but looks like that was a good thing :-)
Ramstein Posted December 9, 2012 Author Posted December 9, 2012 hmmmmm.... Thanx for the help.. so, grabbing the A-10 Cockpit and changing those lua files, etc.. I guess I will wait for a SEAD aircraft,, again, we use the SU-25T with the AGM missles to hit Sams... until the Allies get a proper SEAD aircraft,, the A-A-10C (or even A-10A) help, but they don't have SEAD. Hopefully by the end of Summer 2013, we might get one... Since I fly online a lot, I am not going to mess with the code... In Black Shark we added some anti-ship missles in custom loadout... But, I completely understand the cockpit doers not have the ability to fire off weapons systems that are not part of the package.. just wasn't sure if you put them on a hardpint and launch them,,, but yes, would have to be able to assign a target, etc..etc.. ASUS Strix Z790-H, i9-13900, WartHog HOTAS and MFG Crosswind G.Skill 64 GB Ram, 2TB SSD EVGA Nvidia RTX 2080-TI (trying to hang on for a bit longer) 55" Sony OLED TV, Oculus VR
