NavyAce Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Hi, I don't know if anyone else is having a problem with this, but here goes. I have the pre-release Beta version of DCS World and the P-51D and they installed with no problem. I then tried to install the first update, which I think was 1.2.1. I downloaded it fine but it wouldn't install. Then I decided to try the latest version and downloaded 1.2.2.7122_19 (DCS and P-51D). I was able to open the installer application for DCS World, but when I tried to run it I found that after getting through the first couple of screens it told me to Please Insert Disk 1. Well this is a download so there isn't any disk to insert. I also tried running the P-51D installer application but again, I could open it but after a couple of screens I got an error message saying that I could, "Not install P-51D 1.2.2.7122 into older DCS World 1.1.2.1" and that I should use the Update DCS World menu and try again. But I tried to load the new version and was told I needed a disk that doesn'T exist in the download version. I actually prefer disks to downloads but the site doesn't tell how to order one. Can you help. Thanks. Wayne
ALDEGA Posted November 14, 2012 Posted November 14, 2012 Can you post the file name of all files which you have downloaded for DCS World 1.2.2?
NavyAce Posted November 15, 2012 Author Posted November 15, 2012 Dear Aldega, I have downloaded the following files for DCS World 1.2.2: DCS_World_release_en_1.2.2.7122_19(1) This is the installer DCS_World_release_en_1.2.2.7122_19 DCS_World_release_en_1.2.2.7122_19-1.bin DCS_World_release_en_1.2.2.7122_19-2.bin DCS_World_release_en_1.2.2.7122_19-3.bin The first application file has a (1) next to it I believe because of a first attempt to use it to install the program which failed for some reason. I would also like to know if v 1.2.2.7122 includes the fixes in 1.2.1 or is it a stand alone and I would need to install the previous v first? I was actually trying to do that but had install problems which is why I am trying to install the next update, 1.2.2 Wayne NavyAce
Ginger Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 I joined DCS today and downloaded the P 51D module. but am unable to load it. (.The basic DCS works OK) My P 51D download was 1.2.2.7122_19 but when I try to install my P51D program I am told I that I need 1.2.2.7286 and installation stops. Can someone please tell me where I can find 7286? Thank you.
ALDEGA Posted November 15, 2012 Posted November 15, 2012 (edited) I have downloaded the following files for DCS World 1.2.2: DCS_World_release_en_1.2.2.7122_19(1) This is the installer DCS_World_release_en_1.2.2.7122_19 DCS_World_release_en_1.2.2.7122_19-1.bin DCS_World_release_en_1.2.2.7122_19-2.bin DCS_World_release_en_1.2.2.7122_19-3.bin The names of the files are important. It looks like you downloaded the installer twice, which resulted in "(1)" being appended. When you use the file with "(1)" in the name, it fails to find the data files due to the difference in name. (as indicated in your PM) According to your PM the other installer file didn't work. I suggest you delete "DCS_World_release_en_1.2.2.7122_19" and then remove "(1)" from the other file's name so it becomes "DCS_World_release_en_1.2.2.7122_19". Try running it then. If it still doesn't work, check the file sizes of all files. Edited November 15, 2012 by ALDEGA
Ginger Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 Please disregard my note above. P-51D en 1.2.2.7286.39 is now available on the DCS site. I have downloaded the new one twice and on setup I get a "The set up files are corrupted please obtain another copy of the program" notice. My DCS program is the 1.2.2.7286 release but I do not know the version number (e.g.7286.39 which is the one on the P-51D program). Is the P51D module corrupt or do I need to download the whole 5G DCS program again? My months bandwidth is just about used up. Thanks for any advice.
BraveBY Posted November 16, 2012 Posted November 16, 2012 same with me I downloaded the new DSCW 1.2.2.7286 this morning, and FC3 7286 CA 7286 was installed successfully. only P-51D 7286 have the problem that has been discussed.
