Hi

For me the picture freezes at explosion effects and the system must be restarted.

NVidea driver on date.

It seems so that the smoke effects are to blame.Sometimes it jerks when the cannon is fired. But when the missile hits it always freezes.

I hope you can help me because I am already on FC3 since it was known.

What I also noticed it at A10C it is very jerky when the cluster bombs explode.

Thanks

CHRISTIAN

See:

FC3-How to improve frame rate?

I found some relief by adjusting my antialiasing down in both my graphics settings and game options...unfortunately at an unacceptable loss in quality...so I'm still trying.

correction: fortunately at an acceptable loss in quality

Hi Fitness88

Thanks for your answer but have MSAA off and TSSAA unchecked and no improvement.

But I think that it's the graphics card because the frames in A10C go back

dramatically if the CBU explode `s.But the system does not freeze completely.

Maybe someone could post the best settings for FC3 for my GeForce 560Ti 2GB.That

to me would be a big help because I do not know myself so well.

As I said, in normal flight, the frames are very good (30-40).Only with

explosions and smoke, they go back extremely.Firing a AIM9 close behind Enemy

Aircraft and subsequent explosion the System freeze almost always.

Will of course continue to test and hope I get it under control.

Thanks

CHRISTIAN

Could someone please specify the optimum settings for a nvidea geforce 560Ti 2GB.

That would be really great.

Thank you very much.

I've had a couple of freezes recently on my system seemingly when AIM-9s hit enemy aircraft. I'd set up a fast mission and edited it to be AI only. I watched a couple of A10s engage a flight of SU-25s and the screen froze twice during AIM-9 explosions. Note frame rates are otherwise high (30+ minimum), 1920x1080, graphics settings are high.

System is i7 3770K at 4.1 GHz, 16GB RAM, GTX570 1.2 GB. Latest Nvidia drivers.

Note I could use CTRL/ALT/DEL to close DCS and return to main menu.

"Optimum" is a subjective thing. I fly at all-max except water medium, with my 560Ti 1GB running two screens, one of which holds the simulator in windowed mode.

Absolute freezes are most likely not a performance issue in any way. I would suspect driver issues there. Provoke it while it is in windowed mode, then click the window when it is frozen and Windows should inform you in a popup that it has stalled. Then ask it to close it. This should cause a crash-log to be stored in C:\Users\XXXXXX\Saved Games\DCS\Logs\ and for dcs.exe in windows Event Viewer.

The error code and information stored there might help us see what is causing the issue. Also, you can doublecheck the crash entries in the A-10C FAQ in my signature (they apply to FC3 as well).

EDIT: Blargh, didn't notice timestamp before I responded... Hopefully this applies to you as well though Davros23.
